Lower Lights Christian Health Center (LLCHC) transforms the overall health of Central Ohio, serving one individual at a time. We are focused on whole-person wellness, available to ALL in Central Ohio who need it, regardless of ability to pay!  We served over 15,000 patients - with 40% being uninsured - and totaled 50,000+ medical encounters!
Operating out of seven locations, we offer medical care (primary care, dental, vision, OB/GYN, telehealth), behavioral health care, 340B pharmacy, nutritional assistance programs, and more. Working hours are Monday - Friday with occasional Saturday morning coverage.Â
JOB SUMMARYÂ
The Accounting Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely execution of accounts payable functions while supporting broader accounting operations, including reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close activities. This role serves as a key contributor to maintaining financial integrity and ensuring compliance within a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) environment.Â
The ideal candidate combines strong transactional accuracy with the ability to understand and support the full accounting cycle, contributing to continuous process improvement and cross-functional collaboration.Â
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Â Â
Accounts Payable (Primary Focus)Â
- Process and verify invoices for accuracy, proper coding, and approvalsÂ
- Manage full-cycle accounts payable, including invoice entry and paymentsÂ
- Ensure timely and accurate disbursementsÂ
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepanciesÂ
- Maintain audit-ready A/P documentationÂ
- Support 1099 preparation and complianceÂ
General Accounting & Financial SupportÂ
- Prepare and post journal entriesÂ
- Perform monthly account reconciliations
- Assist with month-end and year-end closeÂ
- Support financial statement preparation and variance analysisÂ
- Maintain general ledger accuracy in accordance with GAAPÂ
Payroll & Cross-Functional SupportÂ
- Support payroll processing and reconciliationsÂ
- Collaborate with departments on expense codingÂ
- Assist in resolving system discrepancies (NetSuite, Paycom)Â
Compliance & ControlsÂ
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and policiesÂ
- Support audit requests and documentationÂ
- Maintain compliance with FQHC regulatory requirementsÂ
Process Improvement & SystemsÂ
- Identify opportunities to improve workflowsÂ
- Support system enhancements and data integrityÂ
- Contribute to strengthening financial processes and controlsÂ

Education & Qualifications:Â Â
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferredÂ
- 2–4 years of accounting experience, with A/P focus
- Healthcare or nonprofit experience preferredÂ
- Experience with NetSuite, Paycom, and ExcelÂ
- Understanding of GAAPÂ
