Position Summary

The Culinary Host is responsible for creating an exceptional dining experience for patients, guests, and staff by delivering outstanding customer service and ensuring meals are prepared, presented, and served in accordance with Hospitality Health ER's hospitality standards. This role contributes to a positive patient experience by maintaining a clean, organized environment while providing attentive, compassionate service.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Deliver exceptional hospitality and customer service to patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Prepare patient trays and dining areas according to Hospitality Health ER service standards.
  • Accurately take, process, and deliver food and beverage orders in a timely manner.
  • Ensure patient satisfaction by checking in throughout meal service and responding promptly to requests.
  • Clear meal trays and maintain clean, organized patient dining and service areas.
  • Stock patient refrigerators, lobby refreshments, and hospitality stations.
  • Clean and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, equipment, and work areas in compliance with food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Monitor inventory levels and restock food, beverages, and supplies as needed.
  • Report equipment concerns, maintenance issues, or patient requests to leadership promptly.
  • Work collaboratively with clinical and support staff to ensure a seamless patient experience.
  • Minimize waste while maintaining appropriate inventory and supply levels.
  • Comply with all food safety, infection prevention, and workplace safety policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Current Food Handler's Certificate required.
  • Knowledge of food preparation, food handling, sanitation, and food safety standards.
  • Basic computer proficiency and the ability to utilize point-of-sale or order entry systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
  • Basic math, reading, and writing proficiency.
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing exceptional customer service and compassionate patient care.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in hospitality, food service, healthcare, or customer service preferred.
  • Hotel Management or hospitality-related education is a plus.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 pounds.
  • Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift.
  • Ability to work in kitchen and patient care environments with varying temperatures.
