Job description

Regional Customer Director (RCD)
Location: West Area (Preferred Home Base: Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, San Francisco, Denver, Phoenix, Seattle)
Role Overview
The Regional Customer Director (RCD) is a strategic, field-based leader responsible for driving scientific engagement, strengthening KOL advocacy, and shaping execution of the ATTR brand strategy across the West Area of United States. The role partners closely with Medical, Brand, Sales, Market Access, and Headquarters teams to deliver high-quality, compliant scientific interactions and actionable insights that advise national priorities. The RCD represents AstraZeneca at regional and national congresses and leads key initiatives that advance the amyloidosis portfolio. This is an individual contributor role reporting to the ATTR - West Area Director.
Key Responsibilities
  • Identify, engage, and develop KOLs to advance scientific advocacy and inform strategic planning.
  • Deliver compliant, high-quality scientific exchange grounded in strong disease-state expertise.
  • Surface, synthesize, and communicate field insights to build brand and medical strategy.
  • Lead and support national and regional initiatives, ensuring well-adapted project execution.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to align field execution with national objectives.
  • Represent the brand at congresses, professional societies, and scientific engagements.
  • Navigate sophisticated customer environments and influence without authority.
  • Leverage digital tools, CRM systems, and analytics to improve engagement quality and insight generation.
  • Apply sound operational and financial judgment in managing projects and vendor partnerships.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 10+ years of pharmaceutical or biotech experience.
  • Experience across multiple functional areas such as Sales, District Sales Management, Brand, Market Access, TLL, Regional Marketing, or Medical Affairs.
  • Demonstrated scientific competence and ability to engage in complex clinical discussions.
  • Proven track record to lead cross-functional initiatives and deliver high-quality project outcomes.
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and influence-without-authority capabilities.
  • Ability to travel up to 50-60%.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Cardiovascular (CV/CVRM) or rare disease experience; amyloidosis experience preferred.
  • Residence within one hour of a major airport in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Denver, Phoenix, San Diego, or Orange County (MST/PST).
  • Experience with advisory boards, speaker programs, and congress planning.
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks governing promotional and non-promotional activities.

Pay Transparency
The annual base pay for this position could range from $190,572-$233,538 USD Annual. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles). Benefits offered include a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employees will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
