Assistant Project Manager

Location: Hill Air Force Base, UT

This role sits within CLPโ€™s Construction Project Management Office (PMO), a collaborative organization that partners closely with engineering, construction, and operations teams to deliver projects efficiently from design through construction and closeโ€‘out. The PMO emphasizes strong project controls, contractor oversight, and disciplined execution in highly regulated federal environments, making it an ideal fit for experienced Project Managers who thrive on leading complex, highโ€‘impact infrastructure work.

The Assistant Project Manager will support active electrical infrastructure projects from planning through closeoutโ€”working closely with Project Managers, engineers, contractors, and field crews to keep work moving, organized, and on track. This is a handsโ€‘on coordination role with real exposure to construction execution, schedules, and costs.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Assist with compiling and distributing reports on all project phases and financial performance.
  • Cultivate and maintain effective relations with the Client, project team, engineers, subcontractors, and field personnel.
  • Support the Project Manager with developing the budget, schedule, and construction service plans for various elements of the project.
  • Travel to the project site as needed to monitor project activities.
  • Attend project meetings including pre-award, preโ€‘construction, project progress and final closeโ€‘out.
  • Work closely with project management team to identify and allocate resources, including personnel and materials.
  • Monitor progress, tracking timelines and construction activities according to schedule.
  • Participate in and monitor the procurement process, cost control, and change management systems.
  • Perform field inspections to verify quality and accuracy of construction.
  • Uphold the core safety values of the company and collaborate with the EH&S Director to effectively communicate and enforce safety standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills:
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field highly preferred. Previous related work experience may substitute.
  • Two-four (2-4) years of experience with industrial/commercial building construction, materials, systems, field work or similar is required.
  • Previous experience with federal government contracting or federal construction activities is a plus.
  • Detail oriented with strong documentation and reporting skills.
  • Organized, Problemโ€‘Solver with ability to multitask.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, and other Microsoft Office products.
  • Must have excellent analytical, organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
Other Requirements:
  • You must be a US citizen or have permanent work authorization.
  • You will be required to obtain Military Base Access Security Clearance.
  • A valid driverโ€™s license required.

  • Salary range: $70,000-$85,000/year based on experience, plus eligible to participate in Short Term Incentive Plan.
