Position:  Assistant Project Manager

Reports to:    Sr. Project Manager

Department:  Project Management

Industry:        Mechanical Insulation & Firestopping

The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for providing support to the Project Management Department in the areas of project setup-oversight and document facilitation/organization.  Experience in this position will allow the individual to eventually develop into a Project Manager.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist project management department in executing mechanical insulation and firestopping projects, from submittal/work order package preparation and material equipment ordering to project oversight and job closeout.
  • Manage jobsite passes and training certifications.
  • Review and mark mechanical drawings, and provide takeoffs and/or estimates, as needed.
  • Provide support to estimating and accounting departments.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Working experience in construction industry a plus.
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems (insulation and firestopping, preferred_ and ability to read mechanical plans.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and adjust schedule to consistently meet deadlines in a fast0paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Availability to interview in the Honolulu office within 72 hours of request.
  • Work location: in person.

Education/Training:

  • High School degree or equivalent required; Associate or Bachelor's degree in related field is preferred.
  • Previous work experience in construction or related field preferred.
  • Estimating software (*e.g.: FastWrap, Blue Beam) and AutoCAD experience a plus.
  • MS Office skills (MS Word and Excel).
