Job description

Burson Creative:

You'll be joining a creative team that's been recognized with Cannes Lions, Clios, One Show, New York Festivals, SABER, and PRWeek awards, but more importantly, a team that's curious, collaborative, and constantly pushing each other to do work that earns attention.

The Creative team works across the full Burson client roster to ideate, develop, and produce earned-first campaigns, building original ideas that cut through culture not just the noise. Our work connects people and brands by digging deeper, imagining more, and creating campaigns and content designed to live anywhere and travel everywhere.

We've intentionally brought together a mix of designers, writers, producers, and creators from different backgrounds, cultures, and points of view, because better work comes from diverse voices challenging each other.

We're looking for people who love what they do, value different perspectives, and are excited to roll up their sleeves to help push our creative even further.

More about the role:

Burson is looking for a Senior Social Content Creator who is passionate about all things social media and is a visionary leader in social storytelling. The ideal candidate is proactive, strategic, socially-savvy, and detail-oriented - someone who doesn't just follow trends, but creates them. You should be able to react quickly in a fast-paced environment and be truly passionate about social media: what trends are shaping it, what best practice looks like, and how brands and fans are changing the landscape. A deep understanding of internet and pop culture, especially as it relates to Gen Z, is essential.

In this role, you will develop sophisticated and complex social media concepts that move beyond tactics to sustainable campaigns and activations. You will independently package and present social content strategies to both internal and external stakeholders, effectively communicating rationale and impact. You may work across a diverse portfolio of clients - including Novo Nordisk, Supernus, Novartis, Teva, BUBS, ANA, and Spotify, among others - translating complex brand challenges into impactful social narratives.

This role demands a deeply hands-on approach to graphic design and video production, ensuring every piece of content meets the creative vision but also stands out in a crowded social landscape. We need a collaborative and positive team player who can jump in wherever needed, take ideas from concept to execution, and navigate client feedback like a pro - all while keeping a finger firmly on the pulse of trends, culture, and the evolving media and healthcare landscape.

What you'll do:
  • Lead social creative strategy - develop sophisticated and complex social media concepts that move beyond one-off tactics to sustainable campaigns, platforms, and activations
  • Lead and execute daily and planned hands-on content creation, including graphic design, video editing/shooting, motion graphics, and animation for brand social channels across platforms including Instagram, TikTok, and beyond
  • Daily and planned content creation for brand social channels across platforms including Instagram, TikTok, and beyond - including concepts, franchises, and repeatable templates
  • Inform and create content that speaks to key cultural moments, ensuring optimal use of platform features and best practices
  • Lead art direction and copy crafting for comprehensive social campaigns, personally executing visual designs and ensuring consistent brand aesthetics and tone across all creative outputs
  • Create rapid response content in collaboration with strategy and creative teams as news, cultural moments, and trends emerge in real time
  • Support social listening and insights efforts, tracking culture and trends in real time while balancing ongoing deliverables
  • Independently package and present social content strategies to internal and external stakeholders, communicating rationale and impact with confidence
  • Independently produce and master a diverse range of social content formats, from concept to final output, including static graphics, short-form video (filming/editing), motion graphics, animations, carousels, and stories
  • Demonstrate mastery of the social content production process across media types including static, short-form video, carousels, and stories
  • Find creative solutions to social challenges including budget constraints, client feedback, and strategic pivots
  • Package completed work as compelling case studies for internal education, new business pitches, and awards submissions
  • Develop client trust through strong presentations and effective social strategies
  • Mentor and provide direction to Associate Social Creatives, inspiring teammates with creativity, attitude, and work ethic
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of each brand's compass and social strategy and how it plays out in day-to-day execution
Experience that contributes to success:
  • 5-7+ years of creative experience in social media and content, including 3-5 years in a mentorship, supervisory, or team leadership role
  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Digital Media, or a related field with a strong emphasis on visual design and content creation
  • Serial social media user who can demonstrate a deep, platform-native understanding of key channels
  • Proven ability to develop visionary, sophisticated, and earned-first social strategies that break through in culture
  • Exceptional skills in social art direction and copy craft, with a strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of graphic design and video production work created for social media
  • Exceptional skills in social art direction and copy craft, with a strong portfolio showcasing a range of content types and platforms
  • Deep understanding of content formats, real-time trends, and creation best practices across core social channels
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, AfterEffects, etc), and experience with hands-on content creation for brands, including basic and/or in-app editing tools (e.g., TikTok, CapCut)
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, and experience with hands-on content creation for brands, including basic and/or in-app editing tools (e.g., TikTok, CapCut)
  • Ability to efficiently turn a concept into a produced piece of content
  • Demonstrated experience navigating complex client environments, particularly in regulated industries (e.g., healthcare/pharma) and consumer brands
  • Strong collaboration skills across Account, Strategy, Social, Influencer, Digital, Production, and Corporate/Issues teams
  • Confident and persuasive presentation skills with the ability to independently present complex social strategies
  • A portfolio showcasing sophisticated social strategies, integrated campaigns, diverse content formats, and case study development
