What does a successful Technical Writer do at Fiserv?

As a successful Technical Writer, you will translate complex information into simple, polished and engaging content that helps clients understand how to install, set up and use Fiserv's products and services. You will play a key role in developing structured, AI-ready documentation that supports intelligent search, automation and chatbot experiences across our platforms.

What you will do:

  • Create and maintain structured, component-based content designed for reuse, personalization and AI-driven delivery.

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to obtain an in-depth understanding of products and documentation needs.

  • Use test environments to research Fiserv products and services and obtain screen samples for documentation.

  • Leverage AI tools to accelerate content creation, editing, summarization, and quality improvement while validating accuracy and appropriateness.

  • Partner with product, support, and AI teams to ensure documentation supports AI-driven experiences such as intelligent search and chatbot responses.

  • Apply content transformation standards to convert legacy documentation into modular, metadata-rich topics optimized for modern delivery platforms.

  • Estimate, track, and prioritize projects assigned; meet deadlinesestablishedby the team.

What You Will Need to Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in English, Technical Communications, Professional Writing or a related field preferred.

  • 5-7years of relevant technical writing experience.

  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Style Guide and experience with department writing standards.

  • Experience with Madcap Flare,HTML, Microsoft Word, SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat,SnagIT.

  • Experience creating technical documentation in SDLC and Agile environments.

  • Proficient in writing content in U.S. English.

  • Experience using AI tools, (e.g., generative AI, content assistants) to support technical writing workflows.

  • Understanding of structured authoring concepts, including topic-based writing, reuse and metadata.

What Would Be Great to Have:

  • Experience writing user interface text and application screen content.

  • Experience leading project teams and content transformation.

  • Experience creating structured, semantically consistent content designed for AI consumption, (e.g., search, chatbots, and intelligent knowledge platforms).

  • Knowledge of the banking industry, platforms, banking applications or online financial solutions.

  • Experience with Fluid Topics,JIRA and Confluence.

Salary Range

These pay ranges apply to employees in New Jersey and New York. Pay ranges for employees in other states may differ.
