Job description

Eversource supports work-life balance by offering hybrid schedules for certain roles. Eligibility is based on job responsibilities, operational needs, nature of work and team dynamics. Current guidelines require employees to workat least three days in the office, includingTuesdays and Wednesdays, with the third day set by the employee and supervisor based on department needs. The Business Project Manager, AMI delivers strategic project support to the Eversource and its operating companies with respect to projects of varying size and scope to support strategic business opportunities and initiatives related to the AMI(Advanced Metering Infrastructure) Program.

Essential Functions:

  • Leading the Project Management process of Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring & Controlling and closing projects

  • Leading Business Project Teams and partnering with IT Project Managers on capital projects

  • Ability to act as in a coordination role to manage the work and asks of the team

  • Delivering business value and key outcomes

  • Communicate regularly and directly with Executives and/or Leadership as appropriate

  • Prepare and deliver presentations summarizing project accomplishments, risks and mitigation action, budget and timeline status and next steps/planned work and deliverable dates

  • Represent the Customer Group business organization on project teams in varying capacities managing any and at times all of the Project Management process functions: Project Integration, Scope, Schedule, Cost, Quality, Resources, Stakeholders, Communications, Risks, Procurement

  • Five (5) plus years of progressively responsible project management experience that includes project-related Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring & Controlling and Closing experience on strategic business initiatives.

  • Experience within a regulated environment highly preferred.

Licenses & Certifications:

  • PMP Preferred

Typical Duties (Day in the Life)

  • Read and respond to large volumes of email on various topics; set daily and weekly priorities and workplans for self and project team members; participate in meetings both in-person and virtually with colleagues, leadership, on-shore and off-shore contractors and consultants; schedule meetings; develop meeting agendas; facilitate discussions and decision making and capture and track meeting action items; create documentation, spreadsheets, flowcharts, illustrations and presentations to support communications in discussions, meetings and written communications; create Microsoft Teams, SharePoint sites and organize, store and maintain all documentation, accommodate frequent "need today" requests from Leadership and Executives, research and analyze data and information and simplify for specific audiences; assist teammates as needed; demonstrate self-direction and be able be a high performing and contributing resource without significant oversight, demonstrate professionalism in all encounters both planned and on the fly; perform Storm Duty assignment as a priority above all else when called to action.
