About the role

The Forterra Edge Compute Development team is seeking a Technical Project Manager to lead cross‑functional engineering projects that deliver mission‑critical capabilities aligned with Forterra's core product roadmap.

This is an execution role that requires close collaboration with engineering, product management, manufacturing, and other cross‑functional stakeholders. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving complex technical projects from initiation through completion, ensuring delivery on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining detailed project plans, coordinating cross‑functional activities, identifying and mitigating risks, managing dependencies, and driving accountability across project teams. The Technical Project Manager will establish clear milestones, track progress against objectives, and communicate project status, risks, and decisions through regular reports, meetings, and executive‑level presentations.

  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and compliance regulations for project milestones and to government contract requirements.
  • Manage unforeseen project delays; realign schedules and expectations as needed.
  • Work directly with goTenna’s government customers to lead and execute strategic development and integration of goTenna off‑grid networking technology to drive mission impact.
  • Coordinate meetings, test events, and demonstrations to showcase technical capabilities.
  • Develop project communication plans, routinely providing status reports to stakeholders.
  • Conduct thorough risk management for all project risks and opportunities and provide regular updates to management on steps to mitigate risks and minimize any potential delays.
  • Lead contractual agreement drafting with partners and vendors related to project delivery.
  • Develop and communicate multiple project roadmaps internally and diligently update internal data systems. Effectively communicate in‑flight and planned projects with metrics, KPIs, risks, dependencies, obstacles, and mitigation plans.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • At least four (4) years of technical project management experience background; experience with sensors, compute systems, or wireless communications a plus. Experience working with Agile, Kanban, and Waterfall methodologies from initial concept to production launch and working alongside Scrum Masters.
  • Experience working with cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced environment, developing commercial products.
  • Experience in excelling in core project management disciplines including scope, schedule, project plans, budget, resources, quality and risk management.
  • Experience working with suppliers to provide prototype materials during development and production tooling for product launch.
  • Excellent communication skills, including oral, written and presentation.
