Job Description:

Responsibilities

  • Engage in the exploration and evaluation of early-stage data, ensuring the integrity and applicability for model development.
  • Crowe Technical Developers are project team members responsible for executing tasks as part of the AI Transformation team that is embedded with business experts in Crowe's AI team
  • Document findings and provide strategic recommendations to business stakeholders, outlining potential paths forward, technological capabilities, and relevant limitations.
  • You demonstrate the viability of potential solutions and seek to disprove assumptions through data exploration, experimentation, and lightweight Proof of Concept buildout.
  • Actively engage in professional learning within the constantly evolving AI landscape, with an emphasis on the Microsoft ecosystem
  • Engage with your team to derive realistic effort estimates, embracing the iterative nature of early-stage AI development.
  • Participate in ethical, risk, and security discussions to ensure all solutions meet Crowe's high standards.
  • Facilitate meetings with business stakeholders to refine project objectives and demonstrate preliminary results.
  • Ensure a seamless transition of validated concepts to the AI Development team for full-scale implementation.
  • Actively contribute to the professional growth and development of your team members via code review and coaching.
  • You support your team members' growth through pair programming, code review, and/or knowledge sharing.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSData Collection & Exploration
  • Executes basic data ingestion and cleansing tasks, following prescribed methods.
  • Assists in initial data exploration to validate source quality and relevance for AI use cases.
Support AI Model Prototyping
  • Helps senior team members test simple machine learning or AI scripts using existing frameworks or notebooks (e.g., Python, R).
  • Logs issues or anomalies discovered during experiments; escalates them to more senior resources.
Documentation & Version Control
  • Maintains technical documentation of data pipelines, experiment settings, and preliminary results.
  • Adheres to version control best practices (Git or similar tools) for code and configuration changes.
Environment Configuration
  • Configures basic development environments or sandbox settings under direction (e.g., provisioning cloud resource templates in Azure or AWS).
  • Applies standard security and compliance settings, following firm guidelines.
Research & Tool Familiarization
  • Learns core AI tools and services (e.g., Microsoft Azure AI components, relevant ML libraries).
  • Keeps notes on new data sets or environmental changes that may impact solution scalability.
RELEVANT TECHNICAL SKILLSETS & CERTIFICATIONS
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, R, etc.) or data query tools (SQL).
  • Basic understanding of version control systems (Git) and cloud fundamentals (Azure).
  • Introductory credentials (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Fundamentals) may be encouraged.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in software development, with a focus on Microsoft technologies and AI solutions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps and Power Automate
  • Proficiency in .NET, C#, SQL, Python and JavaScript
  • You are comfortable executing assigned tasks when provided guidance by your Technical Lead and/or team members; you proactively request help when needed and collaborate effectively.
  • Knowledge of AI/ML frameworks and tools
  • You can communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical or unfamiliar audiences, both written and verbal; you support the creation of client-facing deliverables and documentation.
  • Conduct thorough testing and debugging of applications to ensure they meet the required performance and quality standards.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for developed solutions, including user guides, technical specifications, and process documentation.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Azure services, particularly Azure AI, Machine Learning, and Cognitive Services.
  • Certifications in Microsoft technologies (e.g., Azure AI Engineer Associate, Power Platform Solution Architect).
  • Hands-on experience with Dynamics 365 and its integration with Power Platform.
  • Expertise in prompt engineering and familiarity with tools like Enterprise ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, and Azure AI Studio
  • Experience with DevOps practices and tools within the Microsoft environment.
  • Previous experience in a professional services environment.
  • You want to stay fresh in AI. You aren't afraid to take a stab at Large Language Model papers before they become blog posts (even if you don't have experience in it quite yet) or try out the latest tools. You're probably subscribed to several newsletters or podcasts about AI topics.
  • Background in business analysis, with a knack for translating business needs into technical requirements.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools.
  • You're familiar with the software development lifecycle and AI Ops best practices
  • You enjoy sharing what you learn, whether by offering cross-training opportunities, giving internal team "lightning talks," or by writing detailed comments on tickets when you close them.

At Crowe, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $62,000 - $100,000 per year.
