The Opportunity

This highly visible sales role is responsible for exercising initiative; to develop appropriate sales plans; to engage leads, and customers; and to close (retrofit, repair/replace or design build) service project contracts. They will maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies.


What You'll Do

  • Analyzes the market and current business performance. Understands the business environment of local markets including competition, purchasing and business trends.
  • Participates with the management team representative on strategically important target accounts. Establishes and maintains personal long-term customer relationships with strategically important accounts to influence opportunities.
  • Manages assigned service sales portfolio to maximize customer relationships and opportunites.
  • Increases market penetration in existing customer base business at key, target, managed and maintained owner accounts. Manages qualification and assessing potential customers and opportunities. Consistently seeks to expand the scope of business with owners. Ensures the development and maintenance of Account Plans with all appropriate accounts.
  • Uses approved consulting style selling techniques to determine prospect and customer needs and to match P1 capabilities to those needs.
  • Have a competent understanding of mechanical or electrical systems. Be able to identify problems and propose cost-effective solutions.
  • Understands the prospect’s organization and decision-making process. Work with the customer on ways to reduce their system related owning and operating costs using a P1 solution. Make efficient sales presentations. Anticipate and answer questions and objections in a proficient and responsible manner. Commit the customer to a decision-making timetable.
  • Manages prospect and customer relations throughout the sales cycle and sustains a supportive working relationship with customers to include monitoring their satisfaction.
  • Must be capable of building rapport and productive working relationships with customers, vendors, and other outside agents. Effectively represent the company’s interests to outside agents to maximize profits.
  • In a timely fashion, prepares complete, clear and concise reports, proposals, booking packages and required company paperwork. Maintain written supportive information relative to delays, changes, special conditions, schedules, etc.
  • Provides support for any special projects as assigned by your manager. These special projects, at the determination of your manager, may or may not become part of this position’s primary responsibilities


Requirements and Qualifications
Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • 2-3 years of sales experience
  • Proficient in Excel, Outlook and general ledger software

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or another related field of study
  • Possesses a demonstrated record of success in selling services or other intangible offerings.
  • Must be self-disciplined, results driven and accustomed to winning sales awards through consistently high performance.
  • Desire, ability, skills and leadership to manage the entire sales cycle is essential.
  • 3-5 years of work experience in the mechanical or electrical service/construction industry
