Job description

Carney, Sandoe & Associates, an education recruitment organization, is currently seeking a Elementary School Teacher starting in Fall 2026 at a Montessori school in Rochester, MN.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Montessori lessons in a mixed-age classroom (ages 6โ€“9) alongside an experienced assistant teacher.
  • Knowledge of and experience in hands-on and integrated learning, as well as early childhood development and literacy skills; be highly motivated, hard-working, collaborative, enthusiastic about working with young children, energetic and flexible; demonstrate a desire to learn; and show initiative.
  • Have a strong pedagogical background and be invested in collaborating with colleagues and working closely with early elementary-aged students. In addition to having the required professional and educational background, we seek an enthusiastic, energetic candidate.
  • Build a joyful and nurturing classroom community that sparks intellectual curiosity and growth for all students, and demonstrates clear and affirming classroom management.
  • Supervise children in the classroom, during recesses and dismissal, and on field trips.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or related degree required. Master's degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in a Montessori classroom preferred.
  • At least 2 years of previous K-12 teaching experience
  • U.S. Work Authorization required.


Additional Desired Qualities:

  • Montessori certification (AMS, AMI, or other) preferred or willingness to become certified.
