Position Overview:

Arctiq is looking for an experienced Systems Engineer II to support the implementation and ongoing delivery of managed services with a focus on data protection, backup, and disaster recovery. is responsible for configuring and deploying customer solutions across platforms including Commvault, Rubrik, Metallic, and Zerto. You will participate in client-facing meetings, perform hands-on hardware and software configuration, and serve as a reliable escalation point for junior engineers. This is a hybrid position that includes participation in an on-call rotation to support after-hours incident response.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Configure, deploy, and maintain data protection platforms including Commvault, Metallic, Zerto, and related technologies
  • Support project-based implementations, following technical design documentation and collaborating with internal engineering and delivery teams
  • Perform hardware installations, including racking, cabling, and setup of media agent servers and storage components
  • Participate in client meetings to gather requirements, provide updates, and ensure alignment on technical delivery
  • Serve as a primary technical contact for assigned managed service accounts
  • Work cross-functionally with Network, Systems, and Project teams to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Manage and resolve escalated tickets, performing root cause analysis and delivering documented findings to clients
  • Mentor Systems Engineer I staff and contribute to the knowledge base and Confluence documentation
  • Maintain accurate asset, configuration, and change records in Jira and other ITSM tooling
  • Participate in on-call rotation, responding to after-hours alerts and incidents per defined escalation procedures
  • Maintain awareness of best practices in backup, recovery, and data management


Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in systems or backup administration, preferably in a managed services or service provider environment
  • Foundational knowledge of Commvault, Metallic, Zerto, Rubrik, Cohesity, or similar data protection platforms
  • Familiarity with Windows Server, VMware, network fundamentals, and storage systems
  • Proven track record managing client-facing escalations and technical communications
  • Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills
  • Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Comfortable with hybrid work expectations and on-call availability on a rotating basis
  • Ability to lift and install physical hardware (up to 50 lbs)
  • Preferred certifications: Commvault Certified Professional, Zerto Certified Associate (ZCA), Fortinet NSE, or Microsoft Azure


Work Arrangement:
