Overview

In this position, you will implement advanced ArcGIS deployments, analyze and solve technical problems, and optimize performance and organization. You will consult with end users on advanced enterprise deployment, architecture and integration topics.

This team supports Defense and Intel clients. You will be part of a talented cross-functional team of dynamic and passionate engineers to deliver capabilities that enable our customers to make a difference in communities around the world. You will be part of a team that influences lasting contributions for communities with the web and mobile applications you create.

The Professional Services division is the consulting and implementation arm of Esri. We break ground in new markets, push the technology envelope and ultimately deliver transformational solutions to high profile clients worldwide. The Professional Services organization is comprised of nearly 1,000 talented business and technical professionals who strive every day to help our users be successful.

Esri has a Relocation Assistance Program and can provide support with relocating to the Warner Robins, GA area for this position. This position would be onsite with a customer at Robins Air Force Base.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy and configure ArcGIS in a wide variety of environments across operation systems, cloud providers, security architectures, customer types and organizations, to meet the customer's service level agreement
  • Plan and execute the migration of content from one ArcGIS deployment to another, encompassing different architectures, deployment strategies and software components
  • Identify, design, and deliver mission-focused GIS workflows, applications, and use cases aligned to customer operational needs
  • Provide guidance on ArcGIS Enterprise best practices including Portal administration, Server roles, and platform optimization
  • Troubleshoot advanced ArcGIS deployments, providing guidance for platform components such as storage, networking and security
  • Work closely with customers and partners to identify, design, and certify key GIS workflows for the ArcGIS platform
  • Collaborate internally to help customer organizations align their technical objectives and business goals with Esri's technology platform
  • Facilitate coordination with Esri developers, product engineers, and subject matter experts
  • Maintain continuity and institutional GIS knowledge across the customer's enterprise
  • Travel occasionally to domestic and overseas customer locations to support demonstrations, planning, and technical exchanges.

Requirements

  • Eagerness to work closely with customers to solve interesting problems
  • 8+ years of professional experience in a similar position supporting similar responsibilities
  • Experience designing, implementing and/or administrating enterprise ArcGIS or other comparable IT systems (desktop, server and online)
  • Broad system administration experience on Windows and/or Linux
  • Working knowledge of at least one scripting or programming language (such as Python, PowerShell, Javascript, C#)
  • Familiarity with network concepts and topics (such as domains, directories, DNS, HTTPS, firewalls, proxies, load-balancing)
  • Experience with at least one RDBMS, including SQL query writing (such as SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL)
  • Active TS Security Clearance with SCI eligibility
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or STEM related field

Recommended Qualifications

  • CompTIA Security+ certification
  • One or more industry-standard IT certifications (such as Esri, Microsoft, Amazon)
  • Experience with Esri software including ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Online, Portal for ArcGIS and ArcGIS Runtime and their associates APIs or interfaces
  • System administration experience on Kubernetes
  • Cloud-based system operations (SysOps)
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or STEM related field
