We’re looking for a dependable and technically driven Mechanical Systems Engineer to support engineering initiatives across multiple MPW business units. This role combines mechanical design, field support, project coordination, and equipment improvement efforts while working closely with operations teams and customers in industrial environments.

 

What You’ll Bring

  • Hands-on problem-solving ability with a focus on safety, equipment reliability, process improvement, and project execution.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Design and support mechanical systems, equipment layouts, and operational improvements for industrial projects and applications.
  • Create and maintain 2D and 3D CAD drawings, engineering documentation, and technical specifications using SolidWorks and related software.
  • Assist with research and development activities focused on product enhancements, new technologies, and equipment performance improvements.
  • Provide field service and technical support for equipment installations, troubleshooting, repairs, and operational issues.
  • Evaluate mechanical systems and recommend upgrades or modifications to improve efficiency, safety, and reliability.
  • Support project planning activities including estimating project costs, budgeting resources, and coordinating engineering deliverables.
  • Work closely with operations teams to ensure engineering projects align with production, maintenance, and customer requirements.
  • Travel to customer sites and MPW locations to support engineering projects, commissioning activities, inspections, and field evaluations.
  • Assist with implementation of equipment upgrades and system improvements at MPW facilities and customer locations.
  • Ensure engineering activities comply with applicable mechanical codes, company standards, and safety requirements.
  • Communicate project updates, technical findings, and recommendations to leadership, customers, and project stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate engineering records, reports, drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational efficiency, equipment reliability, and service quality.
  • Perform additional duties and technical assignments as directed.

 

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Technology, or a related technical field required; equivalent technical experience with an associate degree may be considered.
  • Experience working with pumps, valves, piping systems, industrial equipment, or related mechanical systems preferred.
  • Proficiency with 2D and 3D CAD software required; SolidWorks experience strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with mechanical codes, engineering standards, and industrial compliance requirements preferred.
  • Experience with water purification technology or industrial fluid systems is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to changing project demands.
  • Must be willing and able to travel to field locations, customer sites, and MPW facilities as needed.
  • Ability to safely work in industrial environments including exposure to noise, moving equipment, elevated work areas, confined spaces, and varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and lift or carry equipment and materials up to 50 pounds during field and project activities.
