Systems Engineer
Department: Information Technology
Reports To: IT Manager/Director
Employment Type: Full-Time
Location: LaPorte,TX
Position Summary
Paradigm HSE is seeking a highly motivated and hands-on Systems Engineer to join our Information Technology team. This role is responsible for administering and supporting our Microsoft 365 environment, leading acquisition-related system integrations, and strengthening our overall infrastructure. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can independently manage systems-level projects while providing technical leadership and escalation support for complex IT issues.
This position will play a critical role in expanding our technical capabilities, improving infrastructure, and supporting the successful integration of newly acquired companies into our IT environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Administer, maintain, and support Microsoft 365 technologies, including Entra ID (Azure AD), Intune, Exchange Online, Teams, and SharePoint.
  • Lead and support Microsoft 365 tenant migrations, consolidations, and acquisition integration activities.
  • Implement and maintain identity management, access controls, security policies, and compliance solutions.
  • Support Windows servers, networking infrastructure, backup solutions, endpoint management, and core enterprise systems.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex technical issues while mentoring and assisting the IT support team.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute infrastructure upgrades, system implementations, and cloud initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, system standards, procedures, and repeatable operational processes.
  • Create and maintain automation solutions to improve operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate technical projects with vendors, consultants, and managed service providers.
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and security while proactively identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning, business continuity efforts, and cybersecurity initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of systems administration or systems engineering experience.
  • Hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and Intune.
  • Experience leading Microsoft 365 tenant migrations, consolidations, or cloud integration projects.
  • Strong understanding of identity management, authentication, security, and Microsoft cloud technologies.
  • Experience supporting Windows Server environments, networking, backups, virtualization, and enterprise infrastructure.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, organizational, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to independently prioritize and execute multiple technical projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
Preferred
  • Experience working for a Managed Service Provider (MSP) or in a professional services environment.
  • Microsoft certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Administrator Expert, or similar.
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices, compliance frameworks, and endpoint security solutions.
  • Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, or large-scale IT integration projects.
