Raytheon is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Development Lead Systems Engineer for the AMRAAM® C9/D4 program. This role requires a technical leader who will ensure system compliance to contractual requirements, facilitate cross-disciplinary collaboration and integration, and drive system-level verification while considering future growth initiatives. The successful candidate will act as a key technical resource across program efforts, collaborating with internal teams, leadership, and external customers to deliver innovative solutions aligned with program and Air Dominance portfolio objectives.

What You Will Do

  • Ensure system compliance with contractual and program requirements, maintaining alignment with customer expectations.

  • Coordinate across hardware (HW), software (SW), test, and system capabilities (reliability, maintainability, testability, etc.) to ensure interface integrity and cohesive, producible, system design through the deployment of a robust system architecture.

  • Serve as the key source of system and product knowledge, including design, performance capabilities, producibility, and operational considerations.

  • Act as a key participant in platform and System-of-Systems (SoS) interface definition and integration activities.

  • Own and oversee the final system verification process, including Functional Configuration Audit (FCA) and associated Requirement Verification Sheets (RVS)es.

  • Participate in regular customer engagements, including weekly meetings with customer counterparts, as well as briefings with Portfolio leadership and Strategic Business Unit (SBU) leadership.

  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to early-career engineers, fostering their professional growth and development.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM preferred) and a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience

  • Raytheon Level 4 (or higher) Certified Lead Systems Engineer or equivalent experience working as a Lead Systems Engineer

  • Experience leading system development and design, requirements development, requirements management and verification, system architecture development and management, system integration and test, preparation for/transition to production of complex system architectures

Qualifications We Prefer

  • An advanced degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, or related discipline

  • Raytheon Level 3 (or higher) Certified Lead Systems Engineer

  • 12 or more years of relevant work experience including prior experience in a technical leadership role and including experience across the development and production lifecycle

  • Excellent communication, technical writing, oral presentation, and interpersonal skills

  • Experience across the product lifecycle, including concept development, architecture, design, integration, verification, production; as well as with test/support equipment

  • Ability to develop effective internal and external customer/stakeholder relationships to ensure customer/stakeholder satisfaction and continued business

The salary range for this role is 157,200 USD - 298,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
