What you will do:
As a Software Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading multiple teams of engineers to define, build, and deliver software solutions. You will need to be strong in AI-assisted software delivery, strategic planning, project management, and technical leadership. You will be required to foster a collaborative environment, ensuring teams are productive and aligned with company goals. Additionally, you will mentor and support your team leads and engineers to ensure we deliver a high-quality product to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead one or more multiple engineering teams with accountability for delivery, operational excellence, quality, security, scalability, and alignment to business outcomes
  • Develop engineers through coaching, performance management, feedback, and career growth planning.
  • Champion AI-forward engineering practices by driving responsible adoption of AI-assisted development, automation, and data-informed decision-making to improve productivity, quality, and innovation.
  • Drive engineering maturity through continuous improvement in delivery practices, testing, reliability, observability, and technical excellence.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Design, Data, and Operations leaders to align roadmaps, priorities, dependencies, and customer outcomes.
  • Guide architectural and technical decision-making to ensure systems are maintainable, resilient, performant, and aligned to long-term platform strategy.
  • Manage team capacity, prioritization, and execution across multiple initiatives while balancing feature delivery, operational support, and technical debt reduction.
  • Foster a high-performing, collaborative engineering culture grounded in accountability, ownership, inclusion, and continuous learning.
  • Establish and monitor engineering health metrics, delivery performance, and operational indicators to support continuous improvement and organizational effectiveness.
  • Lead incident management, risk mitigation, and operational readiness efforts to ensure reliable service delivery and effective customer support.
  • Influence organizational strategy by identifying opportunities for process optimization, platform modernization, and scalable engineering practices.

What you need:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, IT, Engineering, or a related field with outstanding academics, or equivalent experience and the demonstrated ability to learn
  • 7+ years' experience working on a software development team
  • 3+ years' experience in a software leadership role overseeing one or more teams
  • Experience using Claude Code and/or GitHub Copilot to accelerate and amplify software delivery
  • Experience in web-based software delivery of client/customer-facing applications
  • Experience working in a collaborative environment using agile methodologies
  • Strong understanding of MVC, OOP design, data structures, and algorithms with emphasis on executing at scale
  • Experience with test-driven development (NUnit or similar).
  • Solid understanding of REST API design methodologies using .Net Core 3.x and newer (C#).
  • Experience with building Micro Services with ASP.NET Core.
  • Strong skills in modern web development practices.
  • Familiarity with client-side web frameworks such as React, Angular or Vue
  • Experience implementing serverless Cloud technologies such as AWS ECS, RDS, Lambda, and SQS or equivalent technologies
  • Experience working effectively with non-technical business partners to inform product and business decisions
  • Demonstrated design experience, including story decomposition and execution.
  • Willingness to act as a mentor to other team members.

Compensation
In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base salary range for this position is $156,000 - $210,600, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. If you are hired at NRC Health, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to those factors - we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth. We also offer a generous compensation and benefits package.
