Job description

Barge Design Solutions, Inc. is seeking a motivated Roadway Engineering Associate to join our team in Nashville, TN. In this position, you will play a key role in delivering impactful infrastructure solutions that benefit the communities we serve, including engaging work on a variety of roadway design projects.

You'll have the opportunity to take ownership of smaller projects while also contributing to larger, more complex initiatives under the guidance of senior engineers. Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design of a variety of roadway project types including urban streets, rural highways, bridge replacements, sidewalks and greenways, interchanges, intersections and roundabouts
  • Collaborate with project team members, client representatives, review agencies to resolve issues and develop effective solutions
  • Assist in the analysis and preparation of reports, specifications, plans, and permits for projects.
  • Use computer-aided design (CAD) software to prepare engineering and design documents/drawings
  • Accompany design team on site visits and client meetings as needed.
  • Learn and apply TN Department of Transportation (TDOT) guidelines, policies, and procedures
  • Ensure tasks are completed promptly and meet quality expectations.
