Job description

Senior Software Engineer

Sweetwater, the nation's #1 online retailer of pro audio equipment and music instruments is seeking to hire a Senior Software Engineer to add to our growing Customer Data Platform team. As a member of our team, you will build and support a diverse set of applications that support all departments within our business to better serve our external customers.

This is a full-time position located at our headquarters in Fort Wayne, IN. We offer flexible work schedules and hybrid work-from-home options. Job Responsibilities
  • Work with an expert team of engineers to design and maintain scalable micro-services and distributed systems
  • Participate in architectural decisions for high-performance, fault-tolerant services
  • Write efficient, maintainable backend code
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues
  • Drive improvements in performance, reliability, and scalability
Qualifications
  • Experience in at least one low-level or systems-oriented language (e.g., Go, C, C++, Rust, Java)
  • Working understanding of data structures, algorithms and modern coding practices
  • Some experience working with relational databases like MySQL, Postgres, or SQL Server is preferred, along with the ability to write SQL queries
  • Proficiency with API design (gRPC, REST) and working with such APIs when building applications
  • Knowledge of cloud-native technologies/tooling (Kubernetes, Docker)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex issues
  • Experience in modern front end web/SPA development (React, Vue, Angular) for cross-team collaboration is preferred
