Senior Software Engineer

Locations: Evansville, IN / New York / Boston, MA / Waltham, MA / Jacksonville, FL - Hybrid

About the Role

The role is for a senior engineer with IT software engineering experience to oversee SS&C proprietary applications and automation implementation over cloud infrastructure.

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented engineer to contribute to projects and daily operations.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Scripting & Automation: Develop and maintain scripts using Linux Shell, Windows Command, SQL, VB Script, Python, PowerShell, Perl, and Terraform for various projects and client requests.
  • Automated Processing & Batches: Manage and monitor automated processing systems and batch cycles to ensure optimal performance and health of the environment.
  • Change Control & Incident Management: Oversee change control procedures, handle day-to-day operational incidents, and ensure compliance with SLAs.
  • File Delivery Management: Facilitate and troubleshoot the technical aspects of file delivery procedures.
  • Server & Network Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues related to Windows & Linux servers, networks, and Citrix environments. Understanding of networking protocols, firewalls etc. to coordinate with IT for projects
  • Database Management: Assist in the management of databases - MS SQL & Oracle DB
  • Environment Refreshes: Usage of scripting automation to build cloud systems, coordination with internal stakeholders (professional services, IT teams) and customers.

Required Experience

  • Education: Bachelor's or Diploma degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of technical operational experience, specifically in server migration, cloud infrastructure, and automated operations.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in scripting languages and SQL.
    • Experience with Windows and Linux servers, SQL Server, Oracle DB, and scripting - VB Script, Python, PowerShell, etc.
    • Familiarity with SFTP tools (e.g., WinSCP) and automation software.
    • Competence in Windows Server Administration tools, networking protocols.
  • Platform Experience: Working knowledge of the ServiceNow platform.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong ability to understand and troubleshoot client-specific workflows and automation builds.
  • Collaboration: Proven experience in collaborating effectively with other IT departments.
