Sr. Structural Design Engineer - Shape the Future of Advanced Aircraft Innovation

Make an Impact in a High Visibility Engineering Role

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an experienced Sr. Structural Design Engineer Sr. Structural Design to support a leading organization in the aviation industry. In this full-time, onsite role based in Wichita, you will play a critical role in resolving complex design challenges, supporting aircraft modifications, and contributing to cutting edge engineering projects that push the boundaries of innovation.


What You’ll Do

As a Sr. Structural Design Engineer, you will be an essential part of a multidisciplinary team responsible for developing engineering solutions that support aircraft production, flight test, and special mission modifications. Your daily contributions will include:

•    Investigate design build issues and develop structural engineering and instrumentation installation solutions

•    Author temporary engineering to resolve build issues in a timely manner

•    Dispositioning aircraft non-conformances including rework instructions. (MRB)

•    Perform aircraft and engineering drawing investigation and coordination with affected engineering disciplines, Quality Assurance and operations manufacturing representatives.

•    Design Flight Test engineering change requests and coordinate with work package owners

•    Author engineering to define structural special instructions or restrictions

•    Design and Release Special Missions Engineering structural and systems installations

How to thrive in this role?

•    You must have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited University.

•    You must have a minimum of 10 years industry experience

•    Per US ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) Requirements, must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder).

•    Experience in Special Missions or Aftermarket modifications is required.

•    Experience supporting manufacturing and aircraft modifications is required.

•    Experience of leading a team of engineers is required.

•    You must have a minimum of 15,000 hours on CATIA V5.

•    Proficient in CATIA V5 Workbenches: Assembly Design, Part Design (Boolean Operations), Aerospace Sheetmetal, Tubing Design, Kinematics and Electrical Harness Routing are a plus.

•    Experience in Siemens NX is a plus.

•    Experience in Teamcenter PLM is a plus.

•    You must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

•    You must be a highly motivated, self-starter.

•    You must have proficiency with MS Office tools, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. All other computer systems and software are a plus.

•    Any aircraft or manufacturing experience is a plus

•    Experience in Special Missions or Aftermarket modifications is a plus

Pay Details: $75.00 to $95.00 per hour
