Electrician

As an Electrician at DENSO Manufacturing, you are responsible for maintaining all facilities and production equipment according to safety, preventive, predictive and productive maintenance. You are to ensure that machines are in good working condition by performing comprehensive electrical and basic mechanical troubleshoot. As well as automation maintenance tasks including, robotics, vision, and controls programming. You will install, maintain and repair equipment and machinery using specialized tools. In this role, you will work on industrial machines and facilities equipment at our manufacturing plant in Guelph, Ontario.

This position supports a rotating shift operation of Days and Afternoons 

Salary: $43.80-$48.67 per hour

Duties Include:

  • Maintaining systems for compressed air, water, cooling towers, pumps, exhaust fans, HV/HVAC, plant lighting and cooling systems
  • Facility interior items such as running conduit/ power installs/ data cables/ substation recording/ breaker panels and contractor support
  • Able to configure and teach Robotics (Denso, Fanuc, Motoman)
  • Able to install, configure, and teach vision systems (Keyence and Cognex)
  • Troubleshoot facilities equipment Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems
  • Install wiring, electrical panels, lighting systems, and emergency power sources
  • Identify and resolve issues with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) to optimize motor control and energy efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams such as engineering and production teams to implement improvements and enhancements.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on automation equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and standards in all automation activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts inventory, and system documentation.
  • Identify root cause of problems and correct to return part/machine to good running condition if within scope of work
  • Report abnormal or suspect conditions or breakdowns outside scope of work to appropriate personnel and provide support to return part/machine to good running condition
  • Conduct failure analysis on recurring production problems; locate root cause(s); address root cause by repairing, rebuilding, modifying, setting up, or adjusting industrial equipment, machinery or facilities using company procedures, plans, and prints in order to return the item/system to good running condition
  • Responsible for continuous improvement of skills and cross-training between disciplines
  • Perform mechanical skills including, but not limited to mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work order to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test and adjust.
  • Train and mentor machine technicians and apprentices 
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Strong Electrical and Automation knowledge

  • Preferred Licensed Electrician (309A) or (442A)
  • Applicants with Hvac knowledge and skills would be preferred

  • Must be capable of working in a high-speed environment 

  • Intermediate knowledge of all applicable Microsoft and maintenance software applications

  • Strong attention to safety and details
  • Must possess good problem-solving skills 
  • Allen Bradley PLC SLC-500 experience

  • Proficient in Programming robots, smart controllers, and RC8 controllers. Allen Bradley SLC-5000, Yaskawa V.5 & V.6 PLC and Mitsubishi MELSEC PLC experience is an asset.
