Job description

The Power Platform Developer II, is responsible for the development of low code applications  and automations, day-to-day maintenance and enhancements pertaining to Seaspan's portfolio of Power Platform applications, including tasks related to identifying and troubleshooting application issues. 
Ensures that all changes are made in accordance with Seaspan's lifecycle methodology, version control, testing, governance, and risk guidelines. Works closely with the Technical Lead, Power Platform, and the Business Analyst to develop solutions for Shipyards clients, including participation in requirements analysis, testing and continuous improvement meetings.

Note: Due to business needs, this position is required to be fully on-site based at 1250 Lockley Road, Victoria.

What you'll do

  • Delivers solutions using Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps and Power Automate); outputs will include automated workflows and low code applications
  • Actively contributes across all phases of the software development life cycle.
  • Performs evaluations of end user adoption and works with end users to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Partners with cross-functional technology and design teams to ensure consistent, positive client interaction and solution delivery.
  • Conduct regular stakeholder coordination to provide status updates, align priorities, and ensure progress across active initiatives.
  • Provide direct support and guidance to users, including troubleshooting issues and assisting with effective solution usage.
  • Monitor and support user onboarding processes to ensure appropriate access, compliance, and readiness.
  • Maintain transparent, well-documented methods for evaluating, prioritizing, and scoring incoming requests and initiatives.
  • Coordinate and support governance or oversight forums to enable informed decision-making, prioritization, and accountability.
  • Continuously improve training, enablement, and knowledge-sharing materials to support user adoption and platform maturity.
  • Maintain and manage a prioritized backlog of current and future initiatives, enhancements, and technical improvements.
  • Design and analyze user feedback surveys to inform continuous improvement.
  • Continuously refine development standards, naming conventions, and lifecycle practices.

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration.
  • Certifications (mandatory): Microsoft Power Platform, such as Power Platform Developer Associate or equivalent. Azure (e.g., Azure Fundamentals, Azure Developer Associate).
  • A minimum of 4-6 years related work experience developing and supporting Microsoft Power Platform. 
  •  Experience with and a good understanding of the Power Platform Centre of Excellence and governance concepts.
  • Experience using Azure Dev Ops.
  • Experience in a heavy manufacturing industry would be an asset
  • Reusable component development and extensibility concepts

The estimated salary for this position is $84,600 - $103,400. In determining final salary, Seaspan considers many factors including the successful Candidate's skills and experience as well as position location and internal equity. The final base salary offer will be at the Company's sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.
