Sr. Associate, Business Analyst, Operations (L2)

About the Role

L3HARRIS WESCAM Manufacturing/Repair Operations team is looking for a new member to drive the development and delivery of process and technical solutions.  This role will be active in creating/implementing new business solutions, maintaining/improving all current business systems, and researching/implementing new technologies.

This individual will play a hands on role working with cross functional teams to facilitate workshops, capture business requirements, create functional specifications and prepare gap analysis.

As part of this role, you will become a subject matter expert of ERP system and key tools. This role will allow you to continue to develop your Business Analytics, Project Management and technical skills. 

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Lead new implementations and continuous improvement of existing business systems, processes and policies for manufacturing/repair operations
  • Lead/participate in workshops to gather requirements and convert into use case, training instructions and departmental practices
  • Effectively manage multiple priorities, development, testing, and troubleshooting tasks to meet critical project timelines
  • Analysis of data and identifying/implementing solutions derived
  • Accountable for compiling and generating monthly reports on operational metrics
  • Act as subject matter expert for aspects of Manufacturing Execution System, Enterprise Resource Planning Tools, and related applications for the Manufacturing/Repair Operations team
  • Create project business cases - by interfacing with the management team - to analyze processes, determine project scope, define resource, budget, timelines and document the deliverables
  • Work with users, management and other business units to investigate issues and make recommendations and implement required changes, including training of users
  • Recommend and maintain business system user procedures, system documentation, and standard work instructions to maintain Quality documentation
  • Develop strong working relationships with Service and Production, Supply Chain, Materials, Quality, Planning and Finance teams
  • Develop functional software design documents. Work with developers in production of technical design documents. Ensures the technical design conforms to functional requirements.
  • Participate in System Integration testing and User Acceptance Testing with the business users to ensure high quality delivery of software updates and process changes
  • Provide status reports to the executive sponsor or other stakeholders as required
  • Skilled troubleshooting experience to diagnose the root cause of an issue and make recommendations

Desired Skills and Knowledge 

  • Advanced user of Microsoft tools with an emphasis on DevOps, Excel, PowerBI, MS project, T-SQL, and Visio
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies (certification would be considered an asset)

  • Project management designation not required but experience leading projects is an asset
  • Experience working with a Tier 1 ERP application
  • Business experience in Aerospace or Manufacturing/Repair environment using Product Data Management tools
  • Must be eligible to meet requirements for Controlled Goods Program (CGP)
  • Knowledge of ISO9000/AS9100 standards a plus
  • Green Belt certification or experience with lean processes an asset

Education and Experiences 

  • Requires practical knowledge of job area.
  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
  • Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior related experience.
