Job description

Reports To: Production Planner                                            Department: Planning
Location: Corona, CA (In-Office)                                            Position Type: Full-Time
Shift: 1st Shift                                                                             Hourly Rate: $30.12/hr              
Schedule: Mon-Sat, 8:00AM-4:30PM (OT as required)       Classification: Non-Exempt

Position Summary
 

The Production Scheduler plans and prepares production schedule for multiple work centers for manufacture of finished goods to meet customer demands. Draws up master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates in accordance with plant capacity, sales forecast and/or customer orders.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Minimum one year of Production Planning or Master Scheduling experience preferred.
  • Experience in Food/Beverage or Consumer Packaged Goods Industry preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with MRP-based Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 or SAP, preferred.
  • Proficiency skill level in Microsoft Office applications such as Power Point, Outlook, and Word among others preferred.
  • Proficient Microsoft Excel skills preferred, including use of formulas, PivotTables, and data visualization tools, among others.

  • Ability to multi-task and be detail oriented with proven accuracy.
  • Ability to work with changing priorities in a fast-moving environment.
  • Highly organized and great attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills, and the ability to interpret large amounts of data is required.
  • Strong customer relations skills for effective interdepartmental partnership.
  • Ability and willingness to follow Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Ability to receive written and verbal directions.
  • Ability to understand and follow general work processes.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop schedule to establish order of production to meet shipping dates according to work order and sales order due dates for the plant.
  • Release work orders to support daily production schedule.
  • Adjust schedule as needed based upon unforeseen materials or equipment/capacity issues.
  • Confer with shift supervisors to determine status of assigned work orders as needed.
  • Schedule transfers of raw materials and components from outside warehouses to Production daily.
  • Work closely with Purchasing to ensure that raw materials will be available for production in a timely manner to achieve on time shipment of product.
  • Inform Customer Service of any issues or changes with the schedule.
  • Work closely with Production Planner to establish and understand plant Capacity Requirement Planning.
  • Work with Demand Planner with regards to launching of New Products and target volume.
  • Serve as the designated backup for presenting during Demand Planning meetings and for communicating Production Schedule status updates to the Leadership Team as needed.
  • Report status of open orders during the daily scheduling meeting.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by Production Planner and/or Plant Manager.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk and hear.
  • Frequent standing, sitting, walking, bending, twisting, lifting, and use hands and fingers to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Normal vision, hearing sensitivity and manual dexterity is necessary.
