Sales Operations & Contracting Associate

Position Summary:
Provide timely and accurate contract and proposal support to Sales and Customer Success teams while improving operational processes to scale Sales Operations. The role manages contract lifecycle activities, validates booking and revenue calculations, and maintains CRM data integrity to support renewals and client changes. This position is based on the West Coast and will be a remote role. This role reports to the Sales Operations Manager.

About the Team:
The Sales Operations team enables revenue growth and customer retention by standardizing contracting, pricing approval, and CRM data processes. The team partners closely with Sales, Customer Success, Legal, Finance, Billing and Deal Desk to ensure accurate execution of agreements and smooth client transitions. The team uses Salesforce, Excel/Microsoft Office, contract management systems, and workflow automation tools to drive consistent operational outcomes.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Create, prepare, and process proposals and contracts, ensuring documents are complete and ready for signature.

  • Review contracts for compliance with SOX and SOC1-related requirements and coordinate countersignature processing.

  • Calculate and validate Bookings and Annual Revenue Implemented to support accurate revenue recognition.

  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to obtain client-signed contracts and resolve outstanding issues.

  • Triage pricing and discount requests; route to Deal Desk and obtain required approvals from Legal, Billing and Finance.

  • Maintain CRM data accuracy through daily, weekly, and monthly reviews and reporting.

  • Support client repricing, billing initiatives, and termination processing for assigned accounts.

  • Manage offboarding activities for assigned clients, ensuring timely completion of required steps.

  • Identify and document opportunities to improve productivity and implement process improvements with appropriate automation.

  • Learn and apply new AI tools to improve accuracy and efficiency in daily work.

Additional Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update operational process documentation and standard operating rhythms.

  • Support partner payment validation and calculations as needed.

  • Provide direct operational support to assigned Sales and Customer Success stakeholders.

  • Assist with ad-hoc reporting and analysis to inform decision-making.

  • Support additional End of Month and End of Quarter work.

Expected Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 2-3 years of experience in contracting, sales operations, or a related operations role.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel preferred).

  • Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat.

  • Experience with Salesforce required.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy in transactional work.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a deadline-driven environment.

  • Experience documenting and improving processes; familiarity with basic automation or workflow tools preferred.

  • Professionalism and a collaborative approach when working with cross-functional partners

Expected Compensation

$78,000 - $132,000

The base salary range shown reflects the full range for this role from minimum to maximum. At athenahealth, base pay depends on multiple factors, including job-related experience, relevantknowledge and skills, how your qualifications compare to others in similar roles,and geographical market rates. Base pay is only one part of our competitive Total Rewards package - depending on role eligibility, we offer both short and long-term incentives by way of an annual discretionary bonus plan, variable compensation plan, and equity plans.
