Job description

Reporting to the Vice President, Enterprise Risk and Business Improvement, the Senior Compliance Specialist is a senior subject matter expert responsible for providing strategic guidance and operational leadership for corporate-level compliance functions, including Enterprise Risk Management and Business Continuity Planning.
In this role you will collaborate with senior leaders across Operating Groups and Shared Services to influence compliance-related decision-making, support risk mitigation strategies, and align practices with organizational and regulatory expectations.
Working closely with the Enterprise Risk Committee (ERC) on the handling of compliance obligations and efforts, contributing to the development of compliance framework and policies, you will collaborate on risk mitigation strategies with internal stakeholders, and support the identification of enterprise-level risks and help to foster a culture of proactive compliance and shared accountability across the organization.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Guides enterprise compliance objectives in collaboration with the Enterprise Risk Committee (ERC)
  • Develops and aligns enterprise-wide compliance frameworks with Legal, HR, Finance, and Shared Services
  • Reports regularly to ERC on compliance status under direction of Risk and Legal leadership
  • Establishes and manages compliance escalation pathways and support model
  • Drives alignment of risk and compliance practices across Operating Groups while respecting business needs
  • Leads enterprise compliance strategy, influencing risk mitigation and aligning with regulatory and business priorities
  • Oversees Enterprise Risk Management and Business Continuity Planning, including advising, testing, and continuous improvement
  • Monitors regulatory changes, advises leadership on risk impacts, and drives proactive compliance culture and enterprise-wide risk mitigation

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Law, or a related field
  • Completion of CCO qualifying exams and registrations (e.g., PDO, Supervisor), or equivalent
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in compliance, risk, internal audit, legal, or related fields
  • Experience in large Shared Services or corporate environments
  • Industry experience in construction or similar industrial sectors
  • Cross-border experience in both Canada and the U.S. preferred
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks (e.g., anti-bribery, AML, competition/anti-trust law, privacy)
  • Proven leadership, communication, and stakeholder influence at senior executive levels
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) with strong ethics and ability to build relationships

Work Conditions:

  • Hybrid role, with a combination of remote work and in-office presence 1-2 days per week, or as business needs require
