As a Corporate Recruiter with Southern States Material Handling: You’ll contribute to making Southern States Material Handling a leader in the material handling industry by managing full-cycle recruiting for assigned openings, partnering with hiring leaders to define requirements, attract qualified candidates, assess fit, and deliver a timely, high-quality hiring experience. This role supports employer brand efforts, maintains candidate pipelines, and ensures accurate documentation and compliance throughout the hiring process. This position may be primarily focused on recruiting for hourly, field-based roles across multiple branch locations, including technicians, drivers, service, and parts positions

What we’re looking for:


  • Associate degree in Business, Human Resources, Management, or a related field required; bachelor’s degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3–5 years of full-cycle recruiting experience supporting multiple requisitions simultaneously, including exempt and non-exempt positions.
  • Proven success recruiting for blue-collar, technician, skilled trades, or other field-based operational roles in high-volume or multi-location environments.
  • Experience recruiting within industries such as industrial equipment, material handling, automotive, diesel, HVAC, construction, logistics, or related technical service environments preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of recruiting workflows, sourcing strategies, candidate screening, structured interviews, and selection best practices.
  • Experience advising hiring managers on hiring strategies, market conditions, competitive compensation alignment, and recruitment processes.
  • Proficiency using applicant tracking systems and recruiting tools, including reporting and compliance tracking; ADP Recruiting Management experience preferred.
  • Strong sourcing experience using LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, job boards, referrals, networking, social media, community outreach, and other recruiting platforms.
  • Ability to analyze recruiting metrics and translate data into actionable process improvements and hiring strategies.
  • Understanding of hiring considerations for field-based roles, including scheduling, overtime, travel, driving requirements, and pre-employment screening processes.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, stakeholder management, and presentation skills with the ability to build strong working relationships across all levels.
  • Strong organizational, time management, multitasking, documentation, and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, manage competing priorities, and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, discretion, and ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, adapt to changing priorities, and quickly learn new systems and processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and recruiting technologies.

What you’ll Do:


  • Lead full-cycle recruiting efforts for exempt and non-exempt positions, with a strong focus on technician, skilled trades, and high-volume operational hiring.
  • Partner with business leaders and hiring managers to understand workforce needs, align recruiting strategies with business objectives, and deliver top talent across the organization.
  • Conduct intake meetings to define position requirements, success profiles, hiring timelines, and sourcing strategies.
  • Develop and maintain proactive talent pipelines for recurring field, service, parts, and technician roles using a variety of sourcing methods.
  • Source candidates through job boards, referrals, social media, networking, trade schools, workforce programs, and direct outreach to both active and passive candidates.
  • Screen resumes, conduct phone/video interviews, and evaluate candidates for technical qualifications, cultural alignment, and long-term fit within operational environments.
  • Coordinate structured interview processes, prepare interview teams, gather feedback, and support consistent, job-related hiring decisions.
  • Provide hiring managers with candidate summaries, labor market insights, recruiting trends, and recommendations to support informed hiring decisions.
  • Manage candidate communications throughout the recruiting lifecycle to ensure professional, responsive, and positive candidate experience.
  • Prepare and extend employment offers within approved guidelines and coordinate pre-employment activities, including background checks and drug screenings, as applicable.
  • Monitor recruiting performance metrics including time-to-fill, offer acceptance rates, show rates, and turnover indicators to drive continuous improvement.
  • Maintain accurate recruiting records and reporting within the applicant tracking system, including ADP Recruitment Manager.
  • Standardize recruiting workflows, documentation, and best practices to improve efficiency, quality, and compliance.
  • Build and maintain relationships with trade schools, technical programs, community organizations, staffing agencies, and workforce partners to support skilled trades recruiting initiatives.
  • Support technician internship programs, job fairs, hiring events, and community outreach activities to strengthen employer branding and talent attraction efforts.
  • Assist in developing and refining job descriptions aligned with business and operational needs.
  • Collaborate with HR and Operations leadership on recruiting initiatives, process improvements, and special projects that enhance associate experience and organizational effectiveness.
  • Serve as a brand ambassador by promoting company values, mission, safety standards, and a positive workplace culture throughout the hiring process.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, safety practices, and organizational standards, including Toyota Precepts.
  • Perform additional duties and special assignments as needed to support organizational goals and business objectives.
  • Mon-Fri 8am – 5pm
  • Hybrid (Combination of in-office and remote after training period).
  • Travel- Less than 5%
  • Ability to lift, push and pull up to at least 20 pounds occasionally.
