This position sits within SDI Services, a SOLV Energy affiliate company, and is posted on SOLV Energy's careers site to connect great talent with meaningful opportunities. The Project Manager determines methods and solutions for managing day-to-day operations involving, and not limited to all project management, construction, procurement and contract changes. The Project Manager is detailed oriented and selects the most efficient and economical manner in meeting the objectives as it relates to drilling pile installation, racking installation, module installation, quality control management, and any scope related to SDI Services obligation for solar PV projects. The Project Manager applies advanced techniques and analyses across multiple disciplines and multiple projects simultaneously. This level of Project Manager is a fully qualified professional, proficient in the utilization of current design and construction practices. Frequent travel is expected.

Position Responsibilities And Duties:

  • The Project Manager is a central point person for the assigned project. Once the pre-construction team hands the project off to the Project Manager, the Project Manager is lead in all aspects regarding the project such as (and not limited to), contract management, communication, reporting, schedule maintenance, budget maintenance, change management, risk management, document control, meetings, meeting minutes, lessons learned tracking, and project closeout.

  • Assists the in planning, directing, supervising, and controlling the execution of technical, fiscal, and administrative functions of projects.

  • Assists in determining the technical skills and staff hours required for successful completion of the project.

  • Obtains, analyzes, and circulates technical and contractual information to other members of the project team.

  • Prepares reports and documentation of activity for the client and project management.

  • Prepares notices and change order documentation for the client and project management.

  • Determines and manages schedules and budgets for assigned project proposal and close outs, monitors progress and manages material logistics. Interfaces with procurement and subcontract personnel to facilitate seamless coordination between the office and field.

  • Supports the relationship with the customer at a professional and technical level - including supporting questions, evaluation requirements and system design.

  • Set goals for field management, subcontractors and vendors. Motivate and manage to keep on task.

  • Manage performance, productivity and work quality of all field management, subcontractors and vendors to complete projects on time.

  • Manage and coordinate the delivery of material and equipment to optimize job efficiency, ensure production is not impacted or additional cost incurred.

  • Implements and enforces all company and contractual policies, safety standards and installation best practices.

  • Attend site walks and pre-construction planning meetings.

  • Complete other responsibilities as assigned

Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements:

  • Engineering, Construction Management or Architectural degree or equivalent experience

  • Field construction management experience (5-8 years, including supervisory skills)

  • Leadership ability

  • Problem-solving ability and strong sense of urgency

  • Organizational and communication skills

  • Drafting and computer skills

  • Fundamental knowledge of contract law and project accounting

  • Thorough understanding of all project management control systems (scheduling, cost control, procurement and estimating)
