Job description

SNAP-ON BUSINESS SOLUTIONS

(A group under RS&I Division of Snap-on Incorporated)

Location: Richfield, OH 

Work schedule: Monday - Friday 8a-5p, 5 days per week.

The IT Project Manager ensures that projects are delivered on time, within budget and meet customer expectations. This is the single individual within the organization who is ultimately responsible for successful delivery of a given project. 


  1. *Establishes comprehensive project plans describing what the project team will actually be doing and when they expect to finish. 
  2. *Drives project plans to completion, ensuring that the project is delivered on time, within budget and meets customer expectations.
  3. *Identifies both internal and external risk areas as part of the project plan; performs risk management throughout the project lifecycle and creates contingency plans as appropriate.
  4. *Identifies technical, physical and human resources required to complete the project.
  5. *Interfaces with the Technology team to ensure the project team is following quality processes and methodologies.
  6. *Works closely with the Product Manager to ensure that project requirements have been clearly and completed defined.
  7. May Interface with the QA team to ensure quality assurance activities are completed on time.
  8. *Provides direction and sets expectations for the project team.
  9. *Provides ongoing feedback to team members and presents performance feedback at the completion of a project.
  10. *Monitors the progress of a project very closely to recognize potential project risk factors associated with technical failure, errors by project team, delays in work, etc.
  11. *Keeps Director, Technology, IT Management team, and business stakeholders abreast of project status, including key successes and potential risk factors.
  12. *Effectively manages 3-5 simultaneous projects.
  13. *Works with the IT Management team and technology teams to create and sustain the IT project roadmap.
  14. *Collaborates with associates from other groups across the organization as needed to complete projects.
  15. *Collaborates with associates across the Technology organization to complete technical project artifacts and ensure compliance to technology standards.

  • Proven ability to communicate on a business and IT technical level.
  • Must thrive in a fast-paced, multi tasking, results focused environment.
  • Ability to build, assemble and direct teams, proactively pursue opportunities and issues, providing the team with necessary product and IT technology information to direct the team's efforts to bottom line results.
  • Project Management certification is desired.
  • Experience leading project teams of 5-10 staff members.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Project.
