Location: 100% Onsite

Position Overview:

As a Systems Engineer/Administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring the secure and efficient operation of servers and systems in a variety of environments, including on-premises and cloud-based Microsoft products within our Federal Government Customer's environment. Your duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Building, deploying, and maintaining Microsoft Windows Domain Controllers and Member Servers either in the cloud or on premises and in physical or virtual environments. Significant experience with Server 2022, Windows 11, InTune, Configuration Manager, and other Microsoft products.
  • Building, deploying and administering Windows 11 laptop images.
  • Manage and maintain virtualization environment using VMware vSphere.
  • Manage and maintain network attached storage (NAS) system.
  • Manage and maintain Microsoft 365 services such as Microsoft Intune, Entra admin center with Entra Connect for cloud synchronization, Exchange admin center for mail and mailbox administration, Microsoft Defender, and Microsoft Purview.
  • Ensuring the security of Windows servers and systems by implementing security patches, secure configuration settings, endpoint detection and response, and anti-malware solutions.
  • Maintain identity and access management using Active Directory both on-premise and in the cloud.
  • Implement and maintain PKI for individual and endpoint authentication and encryption.
  • Configure and maintain backup and recovery services and manage file systems and disk space on a routine basis.
  • Make recommendations to purchase server and systems hardware, software, system components.
  • Interact, meet, discuss, and troubleshoot issues with vendors; evaluate vendor products, services, and suggestions.
  • Configure and maintain security audit and logging information on all networked and standalone computers.
  • Report project status as required for all recurring and non-recurring efforts.
  • Maintaining documentation of system configurations, procedures, and changes.
  • Work under minimal direction and independently determine and develop approach to solutions.
  • Collaborating with other IT professionals, including network administrators, developers, and help desk staff, to ensure seamless operation of the IT infrastructure.

Required Skills

  • Security+ Certification
  • Engineering and administration experience with VMware vCenter and ESXi
  • Engineering and administration experience with on-premises and cloud-based Microsoft products such as Azure, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Server 2022, Windows 11, InTune, Configuration Manager, etc.
  • Experience building and managing enterprise active directory domains.
  • Administration experience with network attached storage (NAS) solutions.
  • Administration experience with backup and recovery solutions such as Veeam, etc.
  • Data center experience is a plus.
  • Federal government experience is mandatory.
  • Current Microsoft certifications, such as Azure Security Engineer Associate, Cybersecurity Architect Expert, Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, Security Administrator Associate, etc.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.

Education:

  • BS/BA in Information Systems/Computer Science/related field or 5 years minimum relevant professional and technical experience.
