Position Type: Full-time, Tenure-Track
Position Overview:
Talladega College invites applications for a tenure-track position in the Criminal Justice Program at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, depending on qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will join the faculty in the School of Social Sciences & Education, contributing to a dynamic academic environment that prepares students for careers in law enforcement, corrections, criminal law, and related fields. The individual in this role will be expected to teach undergraduate courses in criminal justice, engage in scholarly research, advise students, and participate in departmental and college-wide service. We seek a committed educator with a passion for criminal justice, a strong background in the field, and a dedication to fostering student success.
Specific Qualifications:
- Education: A Ph.D. or J.D. in Criminal Justice, Criminology, or a closely related field. Candidates with a Master's degree and significant professional experience in the criminal justice field may also be considered.
- Experience:
- Assistant Professor: At least 2 years of teaching experience at the collegiate level (can include graduate assistantships).
- Associate Professor: A minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in criminal justice or criminology, with a record of scholarly publications, presentations, and service to the academic community.
- Experience in both the theoretical and applied aspects of criminal justice (e.g., law enforcement, corrections, criminal law, etc.).
- Experience in advising students, curriculum development, and program assessment is highly desirable.

- Research & Scholarly Activity:
- Maintain an active research agenda in the field of criminal justice or criminology.

- Program Development & Curriculum Design:
