Job description

PURPOSE

The associate product manager works closely with the manager of the Product Marketing Group to manage products throughout their lifecycle, from strategic definition to obsolescence planning. Establishes processes for management of product requirements throughout their lifecycle. Establishes processes for product release. Develops business plans for new and existing products.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

·        Research and collect data to determine potential markets, market size, competition, pricing, and other market factors

·        Facilitate communication of market trends and information to Product Managers, Engineering, and sales divisions to better identify possible new products

·        Assist in the development of a pricing strategy that reflects an optimum potential for sales and profit (revenue maximization)

·        Assist in the development of inventory and/or manufacturing plans suitable to support domestic sales efforts

·        Assist in creating and implementing promotion plans to support direct sales and sales growth through indirect channels

·        Identify and prioritize new product opportunities based on developed knowledge of the market, technological advancements, field sales information, and voice of customer data

·        Support promotion efforts to ensure that sales objectives are met

·        Serve as the point of contact for initiatives involving assigned products

·        Work closely with the Product Manager to come up with strategies (product, industry, etc.) and execute those strategies

·        Product life cycle management from launch to obsolescence

·        Any other marketing or product management-related tasks as assigned by the manager of the Product Marketing Group

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

·        Employees will work in a fast-paced Corporate Culture

·        They’ll also work in an office environment

·        Sustained posture in a seated position for prolonged periods is required

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

·        2-4 years of experience in engineering or product management. Experience in Industrial Products is highly preferred

·        Bachelor’s Degree is required for this position. Electrical or Mechanical Engineering concentration or related work experience is preferred

·        Excellent Project Management Skills

·        Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills

·        Demonstrated ability to work in a cross-functional and team-oriented environment

·        Strong verbal and written communication skills

·        Strong analytical skills and ability to deliver results with complex projects

·        Ability to comprehend technical aspects of product and communicate it in a meaningful way

·        Proficiency in spreadsheet tools such as Microsoft Excel

·        Ability to travel as needed (<10%)
