The Role We Want You For

Clayco is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Process Designer I to support the delivery of industrial projects across a variety of markets. This role is ideal for an early-career professional looking to develop technical drafting and process design skills while working alongside multidisciplinary engineering and construction teams.

You will assist in producing technical design documentation and drafting deliverables to support project execution while developing expertise in Plant3D smart P&ID drafting and industrial process systems.


The Specifics of the Role

  • Assist in the delivery of industrial process design projects across multiple phases of execution
  • Support the preparation of multi-disciplined 2D drafting deliverables for industrial facilities and systems
  • Produce technical work products and drawings that align with client and project requirements
  • Develop and enhance Plant3D smart P&ID drafting capabilities to support project execution strategies
  • Coordinate with engineering, design, and construction teams to ensure accurate and timely deliverables
  • Assist with updating and maintaining process drawings, layouts, and documentation
  • Participate in design coordination meetings and project reviews
  • Support quality control efforts by reviewing drafting standards and project documentation
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and evolving design workflows

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Drafting, Design Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred
  • 0–3 years of experience in process design, drafting, industrial design, or related technical work
  • Basic understanding of industrial process systems and engineering documentation
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Plant3D preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to learn and develop technical process design expertise
