Job description

Essential Functions:  1) Perform assigned tests/audits on material (e.g. incoming materials), goods in process or finished goods where results are compared with Company quality standards.  Analysis of audit results is developed and results reported to the process supervisor, process quality engineer or process manager.

2) Audits product for visual defects.

3) Conducts variable type measurements for quality check of required product features.

4) Audits mfg. processes, machine settings, gauges and test instruments in use, quality records (both paper and electronic), tool charts, job inspection charts and SPC charts, to ensure all operator quality requirements are followed.

5) Records results on forms, charts or other media.  Posts and maintains information on audits and reports same appropriately.  May write discrepant material reports as required.

6) Prepares Metallographic mounts (for example, GBW, CBW, Knoop, etc.) performs etching of shells where required, account/inventory precious material.

7) Ability to work overtime.

Secondary Functions: 1) May act as a quality department clerk, maintaining quality records for the department or other areas.

2) May act as a scrap collector, touring the facility and removing tested and product or material samples from quality inspection areas for further evaluation.

3) May train hourly employees concerning quality standards.

4) Organize and conduct gage repeatability and reproducibility studies.  Analyze results and document report.

5) Organize and conduct capability studies.  Analyze results and document report.

6) May check tooling and equipment for dimensions or other quality requirements/measurements.

7) Basic computer skills and knowledge of database and/or spreadsheet data entry applications required.

8) Miscellaneous metals analysis as required.

Wages:

There is a 6-month progression for wages.   For all newly hired associates the wage rate will follow a progression schedule as follows:  

 0 - 6 months: 90% of top wage for the job

After 6 months:   100%

Final pay rate: $22.65

Drug screen and Background check required.
