Location Designation: Hybrid - 3 days per quarter 

Role Overview 
The Network Engineer - Core Network Services is responsible for the administration, maintenance, and support of the organization's DNS, DHCP, IPAM (DDI), and load balancing infrastructure. This role ensures reliable and secure network service delivery across enterprise, cloud, and data center environments.


The ideal candidate has hands-on experience managing DDI platforms (e.g., Infoblox, BlueCat), load balancers (F5, Citrix ADC, or AWS ALB/NLB), and core IP networking components. This role is part of a team that ensures high availability, performance, and compliance for foundational network services used across all business applications and systems.
What You'll Do:
Core Network Operations
Administer and maintain enterprise DNS, DHCP, and IPAM (DDI) infrastructure, ensuring consistent availability, accuracy, and performance.
Manage and support load balancing solutions (e.g., F5 BIG-IP, Citrix ADC, or AWS ALB/NLB) for on-prem and cloud applications.
Configure and maintain virtual servers, pools, SSL certificates, health monitors, and traffic policies on load balancers.
Monitor system health and respond to alerts, performance issues, or service disruptions.
Support zone management, record updates, and IP address provisioning according to established change procedures.
Ensure proper integration and synchronization between DNS, DHCP, and IPAM systems.

Incident, Change & Problem Management
Serve as a Tier 2/3 escalation point for DNS, DHCP, and load balancing incidents.
Troubleshoot name resolution, IP allocation, or traffic flow issues using tools like Wireshark, nslookup, dig, tcpdump, or vendor diagnostics.
Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions for recurring network service issues.
Follow ITIL-aligned change management processes to plan and execute configuration changes, upgrades, and patches with minimal downtime.

Maintenance & Security
Perform system upgrades, patches, and configuration backups for DDI and load balancing platforms.
Implement and maintain security best practices, including DNSSEC, ACLs, SSL/TLS certificate management, and traffic encryption.
Partner with Security teams to address vulnerabilities, maintain compliance, and support incident response activities.
Maintain and audit network service configurations to ensure accuracy, standardization, and alignment with enterprise architecture.

Collaboration & Documentation
Work closely with Network Engineering, Cloud, and Application teams to support new deployments, migrations, and network designs.
Assist application owners with load balancer configurations, health checks, and performance optimization.
Maintain detailed documentation of DNS zones, DHCP scopes, IP allocations, load balancer configurations, and operational runbooks.
Participate in disaster recovery testing and contribute to business continuity planning for network services.

Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to automate DDI and load balancing operations using APIs, Python, PowerShell, or Ansible.
Proactively monitor trends and recommend improvements for performance, scalability, and manageability.
Evaluate and test emerging technologies and upgrades to enhance reliability and agility.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent work experience). 

  • 3-5 years of experience inenterprise network administration or operations. 

  • Hands-on experience withDNS, DHCP, and IPAM (DDI)solutions such asInfoblox, BlueCat, or Windows Server DDI. 

  • Proficiency in managingload balancer platformssuch asF5 BIG-IP, Citrix ADC (NetScaler), orAWS/GCP load balancing services. 

  • Solid understanding ofTCP/IP networking, routing, subnetting, VLANs, and network security fundamentals. 

  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with experience using packet capture and diagnostic tools. 

  • Familiarity withchange management and ITSM processes(e.g., ServiceNow, Remedy). 

Preferred 

  • Experience withautomation and scriptingusingPython, REST APIs, or Ansiblefor DDI or load balancing tasks. 

  • Understanding ofDNS security (DNSSEC, RPZ, DoT/DoH)andSSL/TLS certificate management. 

  • Experience withcloud networking(AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid environments. 

  • Vendor certifications such asF5 Certified Administrator (CA),Infoblox Core DDI Professional,CCNA/CCNP, orCompTIA Network+. 

  • Experience supportinghigh-availability network architecturesin large enterprises or financial services organizations.

Pay Transparency

Salary Range: $111,500-$159,000 

Overtime eligible: Exempt 

Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes 

Sales bonus eligible: No 

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
