The Media Relations Specialist serves as a trusted brand contact for consumer media, developing and fostering relationships to drive positive coverage and increase awareness for key product launches and brand initiatives. In addition, they also will serve as a team subject-matter expert on products and support collaboration and short-, mid- and long-term planning efforts.

 Responsibilities
  • Develop written public relations materials, including fact sheets, press releases and pitches.
  • Facilitate outgoing pitches and incoming media inquiries via public relations inbox.
  • Responsible for the end-to-end product sampling, mailer and media seeding process, from creative concept through execution, ensuring every touchpoint reflects Bath & Body Works’ brand standards and creates memorable experiences for media and creators.
  • Develop fresh, newsworthy PR concepts and creative storytelling ideas that elevate product launches and drive earned media opportunities.
  • Maintain relationships with external vendors, production partners and agencies to deliver best-in-class mailers, sampling programs and PR experiences.
  • Support ongoing media coverage audits, distributing updates to cross-functional partners and/or leaders as necessary.
  • Support the execution of press events and experiences; participate as a representative of the PR team.
  • Partner closely with Social, Influencer, Marketing, Merchandising and International teams to ensure integrated communications planning and consistent storytelling across channels.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the product innovation pipeline, launch calendar and business priorities to proactively identify compelling storytelling opportunities.
  • Work hand-in-hand with key partners as situationally appropriate in pursuit of assigned priorities and initiatives.
  • Bring curiosity, creativity and an editor’s approach to identifying stories that will resonate with consumers, media and other collaborators.
 Qualifications
  • 2–4 years of PR experience in-house or at an agency; experience in beauty, consumer goods, fashion or retail preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong creative instincts with a passion for consumer products, storytelling and earned media.
  • Experience developing product mailers, gifting programs, media events, or brand activations preferred.
  • Exceptional project management skills running multiple launches and handling competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Highly organized and very agile, efficient, and diligent, with a bias toward action and proactive ownership.
  • Collaborative attitude and a proactive approach to work, with the ability to build strong partnerships across functions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) with a working knowledge of PR tools (e.g., Meltwater, Cision/PR Newswire, Muck Rack, Critical Mention).
  • Interest in new technology and potential future application for communications (e.g., design tools, AI and new vendor capabilities).
