Job Title: IT Business Analyst 3
Atlanta, GA

Position Purpose
As an IT Business Analyst 3, you will serve as the strategic liaison between business units and IT departments to translate complex business needs into actionable, high-quality technical solutions. Under general supervision, you will lead the elicitation, analysis, and documentation of requirements for high-impact or enterprise-level systems. You will not only participate in the planning, design, and implementation of new or enhanced systems but will also act as a trusted advisor and mentor, driving operational efficiency and ensuring the user community fully leverages functional business tools and support systems.
Core Responsibilities
Requirement Elicitation & Analysis: Lead workshops, interviews, and focus groups with cross-functional stakeholders to extract, analyze, and prioritize complex business requirements.
Documentation & Design: Translate high-level business requirements into detailed functional specifications, user stories, use cases, workflow diagrams, and data models. Participate heavily in system design sessions to ensure technical solutions align with business goals.
Project Planning & Implementation: Partner with Project Managers and Technical Leads to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables. Coordinate and participate in the deployment, data migration, and rollout of new or enhanced applications.
Testing & Quality Assurance: Define User Acceptance Testing (UAT) strategies, write comprehensive test scenarios, and coordinate with business users to ensure deliverables meet validation criteria and quality standards.
User Support & Enablement: Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for core functional business tools. Develop training materials, conduct user training sessions, and provide advanced Tier-2/Tier-3 support to resolve complex functional system issues.
Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate existing business processes and system workflows to identify bottlenecks, proposing innovative, automated, or optimized solutions.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Advanced Analytical Thinking: Proven ability to synthesize complex, ambiguous data from multiple sources into clear, structured requirements.
Technical Literacy: Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) models (Agile/Scrum, Waterfall) and familiarity with data tools (e.g., SQL queries, data mapping tools, or reporting dashboards).
Stakeholder Management: Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with a track record of successfully managing expectations across diverse user groups and leadership levels.
Tools: Proficiency with business analysis and project tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Miro, Clickup, Figma, or equivalent).
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems) from an accredited college or university AND three (3) years of directly related experience in business analysis, systems analysis, or IT project environments.
Preferred Qualifications (Optional Additions):
Professional certification such as Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or PMI-PBA.
Experience leading Agile scrum teams or acting as a proxy Product Owner.
