As an Associate Investment Analyst on the Investment Management team, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting senior investment leaders – including the Chief Investment Strategist, in shaping the firm’s economic, market, and investment commentary and perspectives. This role sits at the at the intersection of market analysis, data visualization, and strategic communication, helping ensure Edelman Financial Engines’ investment views are well-informed, clearly articulated, and relevant to clients.

Edelman Financial Engines has a deep commitment to building institutional-quality factor-based multi-asset portfolios at scale. In this role, you will help translate market and economic analysis into materials that inform investment strategy discussions and support client and advisor understanding, while continuing to build depth in markets, economics, and applied investment research. This is a hands-on analytical role with significant exposure to senior decision-makers and an opportunity to influence how investment insights are framed and delivered.

This role complements the team’s existing strengths and is designed for an analyst with some industry experience and an eagerness to grow, learn and collaborate, and who is ready to contribute thoughtfully to investment discussions while continuing to develop expertise under the guidance of senior leaders. 

Responsibilities

  • Support senior investment leaders by preparing market, economic, and portfolio‑relevant analysis that informs investment perspectives and strategy discussions.
  • Develop and maintain macroeconomic and capital market analysis, including charts, tables, and concise commentary highlighting key trends, risks, and inflection points.
  • Co‑create investment content such as chart books, presentations, briefing materials, and short written perspectives for internal and external audiences.
  • Monitor global economic and market developments, synthesizing data releases and themes into insights relevant to portfolios, advisors, and client outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Investment Management, Marketing, and Financial Planner teams to refine materials for clarity and impact while maintaining analytical rigor and alignment with EFE’s investment philosophy

Requirements: 

  • B.S. or B.A. degree in economics, finance or a related field with an excellent academic record.
  • 2+ years of experience in the investment industry (can be banking, wealth or asset management) in a research or analytical role, including contributions to thought leadership, or an MBA.
  • Deep interest in macroeconomics and investing and enjoys following and understanding financial markets and working with data to bring stories to life.
  • Has demonstrated skills working with financial data using Bloomberg, Excel and other tools.
  • Demonstrates excellent written and oral communications skills, as well as meticulous attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills and an enthusiasm to learn, build, create and problem solve.

Edelman Financial Engines takes a market-based approach to pay. The expected base salary range for this role nationally is $112,300 - $149,700. However, final base pay will be carefully determined based on several factors, including responsibilities, job-related skills, relevant experience, geographic location, and market conditions. Additionally, this role may be eligible for other forms of compensation and benefits, such as a discretionary bonus, health, dental and other wellness plans, and 401(k) contributions.
