Job description

At Banks, we don't bolt on parts, we engineer complete systems from the crankshaft out. We've been doing it since 1958; setting records, winning championships, and building engines the U.S. military trusts.

We're looking for an Inventory Manager who will build, implement, and manage our inventory system. You will partner cross-functionally to drive the accuracy, organization, and integrity of inventory within our warehouse operations. This is a ground-up build, not a maintenance role. If you've never built an inventory program from scratch in a manufacturing environment, this isn't your job.

What You'll Do

  • Build the company's inventory systems, establishing structure, workflows, and standard operating procedures (SOP)
  • Build out the inventory modules within the company's ERP platform
  • Develop inventory control policies and procedures, ensuring they are scalable and aligned with operational needs
  • Set up and maintain inventory locations, including designated storage locations, warranty locations, and proper designations for new product lines
  • Investigate root causes of inventory variances and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
  • Control and manage all inventory movements - including location-to-location transfers - ensuring real-time accuracy and full traceability within the system
  • Identify and process obsolete, expired, or damaged inventory for timely removal, disposition, or write-off in accordance with company policy
  • Ensure all new products are assigned proper and logical storage location; collaborate with operations and supply chain teams on space planning and product slotting
  • Conduct regular cycle counts, physical inventories, and spot audits to verify inventory accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly
  • Generate and analyze inventory reports (accuracy rates, turnover, aging stock, warranty, etc) and present insights to management
  • Continuously evaluate and improve inventory processes using data-driven decision-making and lean principles
  • Other duties assigned by manager

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field, or a combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in inventory management within a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of inventory control procedures. Demonstrated experience setting up an inventory system from scratch
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems and/or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
  • Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite programs (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
  • Ability to think systematically and build scalable processes and procedures
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Prior supervisory experience managing a small team; ability to lead, train, and hold associates accountable

The Environment

  • Fast-moving, hands-on, no-nonsense, and fun
  • Real engineers, real products, real growth
  • A team of people who actually care about what they're building

We're a tight-knit group because that's what it takes to lead in our industry.
