Job description

Job Title: Assistant Inventory Manager Reports To: Inventory Manager / AGM

Job Summary: The Assistant Inventory Manager is responsible for overseeing inventory planning and placement in alignment with business goals. This position ensures inventory accuracy, acquisition through sub-rentals or purchases, and inventory profitability and optimization. The role requires independent thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration with other departments to ensure efficient inventory management.

Key Responsibilities:

· Inventory Control:

o Maintain accurate inventory data within the ERP system.

o Coordinate inventory movement, loss, and breakage tracking.

o Conduct cycle counts and analyze results to improve accuracy.

o Assist in purchasing and re-sale analysis to determine inventory needs.

o Research and correct inventory discrepancies and errors.

o Oversee inbound equipment check-in and ERP data management.

o Manage inter-warehouse equipment flow for efficient distribution.

o Coordinate intercompany truck runs for inventory transfers.

o Procure and track departmental supply orders while maintaining cost efficiency.

· Overbooking and Sub-Rentals:

o Handle overbooking issues and determine solutions in collaboration with the Inventory Manager.

o Identify sub-rental needs, coordinate orders, and manage documentation.

· Management and Communication:

o Lead communication on inventory levels and processes across departments.

o Assist in developing inventory strategies to support customer needs and business growth.

o Work on special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

· High school diploma required; college degree preferred.

· Up to 2 years of relevant experience in inventory management or operations.

· Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; experience with ERP systems (e.g., POR) preferred.

· Strong business acumen, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
