Inventory Manager (part-time or full-time)
Location: Sheepshead Bay Veterinary Hospital - Brooklyn, New York

About The Role:

Sheepshead Bay Veterinary Group, part of Associated Veterinary Partners (AVP), is seeking a highly organized and experienced Inventory Manager to support our fast-paced, high-volume hospital. Our hospital operates 7 days a week and requires a strong inventory system to support continuous patient care and weekend demand. This is a hands-on, in-hospital role that works closely with doctors, technicians, and leadership to ensure inventory supports the flow of the hospital without disruption.

When not performing inventory-related responsibilities, this role functions as a lead team member on the hospital floor, working alongside the Practice Manager to support daily operations. Hours outside of inventory responsibilities will be scheduled based on hospital needs and performed in the capacity of a CSR, Veterinary Assistant, or Veterinary Technician.

What You'll Do

  • Perform weekly inventory counts and manage stock levels
  • Place and track inventory orders aligned with hospital demand
  • Receive, unpack, and verify deliveries against packing slips
  • Stock inventory using FIFO and maintain organization of pharmacy and storage areas
  • Monitor expiration dates, reduce waste, and identify trends
  • Track back ordered items and communicate alternatives to doctors
  • Maintain controlled substance logs and ensure compliance
  • Complete quarterly inventory counts and assist with additional inventory counts as needed to support hospital and company operations
  • Assist with special orders, including prescriptions and vendor communication
  • Act as a lead team member on the hospital floor, supporting daily operations alongside the Practice Manager when not performing inventory responsibilities
