Job description

OverviewThe Inventory Manager will oversees team of inventory warehouse employees. Manages SAP system to record deliveries, shipments and stock levels. Analyzes supply levels to investigate issues and remediate as needed.Responsibilities
  • Supervise SAP Admins to maintain accurate records of inventory levels in the SAP software system
  • Provide direction to a team of SAP Admins
  • Train new hires & existing employees on all SAP functions
  • Manage the computerized inventory program and reporting functions
  • Assign, monitor & evaluate workflow of the department, including communicating work assignments
  • Develop optimal works schedules to ensure the needs of the customer are met
  • Validate work orders and reporting through SAP
  • Successfully able to organize incoming orders in SAP
  • Ability to create and manage purchase requisitions, delivery documents, pick tickets, cycle count sheets and standard reports (KPI's)
  • Troubleshoot production orders, receiving, inventory discrepancies and other transactional issues
  • Assist warehouse in order issues, product returns and nonconforming product
  • Determine root cause of order/transactions and assist in development of process improvement plans
  • Superior organizational skills
  • Strong data entry skills
  • Strong SAP transactional knowledge with troubleshooting experience
  • Ability to work in an ever changing, dynamic environment
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, Office, etc.)
  • Must be able to perform duties with minimal supervision
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in a related business field or equivalent work experience preferred
  • Previous supervisory or management experience required
  • Two or more years of SAP experience within a Warehouse Management System (WMS)
  • Experience working in inventory management
  • Strong background in problem solving in a dynamic team environment
  • Requires knowledge of materials distribution and/or logistics processes, methods, and skills related to inventory management 
  • Knowledgeable of shipping/receiving and production operations/procedures
  • Continuous Improvement Mindset
  • Site Lean Project support requires physical and ERP system knowledge of:
  • Kanban systems
  • Kitting market creation
  • Standard work
  • Must have experience using SAP within a Warehouse Management System (WMS)
  • Expert level skills in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
  • Reaching, pushing, pulling carts, pallet jacks and other manual handling equipment (10% or less)
