If you have a โ€˜quality eyeโ€™ and have what it takes to keep up with the best in the business, this is your program! ย SQA Services is a global quality assurance consulting firm that serves Fortune 500 companies in the aerospace, pharmaceutical, medical device, and semiconductor industries.

What to expect:
This is an ongoing position for a Composites Quality Inspector. Once on the team, you will be deployed through SQAโ€™s operations center based on client needs and each supplierโ€™s production schedule. Additionally, you will also be added to SQA's database as part of an elite group eligible for additional projects in the future. We are looking for a Quality Inspector to perform inspections on various sizing mechanical parts and composites with a wildly renown aerospace company. This position involves travel between two or more suppliers in the greater Los Angeles CA area. Travel reimbursement in the form of mileage and Portal to Portal will be provided, as well as lodging if needed. This is a a never ending, ongoing position, full-time guaranteed. Following the completion of this position, you will be added to the SQA database and get first priority for similar positions in your area moving forward.

What you will be doing:
You will be conducting precise composite inspections at various client-supplier sites primarily in Los Angeles, CA, and surrounding areas.
In-process and final source inspection of composite and mechanical parts.
Read and interpret standard manufacturing drawings based on industry and commodity standards


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform in-process, final, and first article inspections (AS9102) of aerospace composite parts and assemblies.
  • Inspect composite materials (i.e., carbon fiber, fiberglass, honeycomb, and bonded assemblies).
  • Identify and document composite-specific defects such as delamination, voids, bridging, porosity, and FOD.
  • Review and verify traveler paperwork, ply layup charts, cure reports, and material traceability records.
  • Conduct visual and dimensional inspections using inspection aids, depth gauges, and laser alignment tools.
  • Ensure compliance with customer specifications, drawings, and AS9100/AS9102 quality standards.
  • Accurately complete inspection reports and maintain proper records.


Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of direct experience inspecting composite materials in the aerospace industry.
  • Strong knowledge of composite manufacturing processes including ply layup, autoclave/oven cure, vacuum bagging, and bonding.
  • Familiarity with AS9102 FAI (First Article Inspection) processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret aerospace engineering drawings, layup charts, and specifications.
  • Visual acuity and inspection capability for complex composite geometries and surface conditions.
  • Proficiency with basic inspection tools and documentation procedures.
  • Familiarity with precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges).
  • Some familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
  • Ability to work independently at supplier sites and deescalate workplace conflicts effectively.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associateโ€™s degree in technical discipline or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience working with aerospace composite suppliers or OEMs.
  • Certification in AS9102 or ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI)
  • Knowledge of ERP or quality systems such as Net-Inspect, SAP, or equivalent.
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical inspection of aerospace components.


50% hourly rate for any travel time ("p2p")

Mileage reimbursement at the US gov't rate ($0.725ย per mile driven). Untaxed.
