Job description

Position Summary

The Mechanical Inspector uses mechanical dimensional inspection methods and practices, operations, drawings, setups and prescribed specifications to inspect incoming, in-process and completed fabricated, machined parts, processes and assemblies, using various measuring devices, and making determinations for acceptance or rejection. Preparing documentation for final product buy off. ย 

Primary Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Inspect and verify dimension, quantity and quality of all incoming and inprocess products in accordance with purchase orders & Blue Print.
  • Identifying, documenting and segregating (where applicable) nonconforming products
  • Monitoring, measuring and testing products (in-process and final inspection) using advanced inspection techniques with the use of height gauge, gauge pins, thread gauges, comparator, etc.
  • Releasing products for shipment
  • Verifying purchased product (QC inspection)
  • Assemble and review customer certification packages
  • AS9102 paperwork preparation (Discus & Net inspect software)
Education and Experience
  • Associate degree or some technical training (preferred)
  • Work experience with AS9100/AS9102
  • 1 or more years working at a machine shop
  • Able to read and understand blueprints
  • Familiarity with GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing) symbols
  • Experience with precise measurement tools, such as calipers and micrometers
  • Basic math skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Discus and Net inspect software experience highly preferred
