Details:
Director - Data & Analytics
Location: Houston TX - 3 days /week
Duration: Direct Hire / Full time role
Responsibilities of the Business Intelligence Director include, but are not limited to:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive BI strategy aligned with the company's goals and objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of BI Developers.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members to ensure the successful delivery of BI projects.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of BI tools and systems.
  • Maintain & support data analytics platforms.
  • Create tools to store data (i.e., OLAP cubes, OLTP etc.).
  • Ensure the accuracy, quality, and integrity of BI outputs.
  • Manage the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data from various sources.
  • Utilize advanced analytics techniques to uncover insights and drive business decisions.
  • Ensure data governance and best practices are followed.
  • Ensure data integrity, consistency, and security across the organization.
  • Retrieve multiple data sources to create custom reporting.
  • Collaborate with internal and client teams to integrate systems.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate key metrics and insights.
  • Stay current with BI trends and technologies. Evaluate and recommend new tools and methodologies to enhance BI capabilities and operational efficiency.

  • 5+ years related experience with SQL
  • 5+ years MS SQL database development experience (intermediate to advanced SQL Writing and table administration).
  • AWS Data Lake experience.
  • Proven experience in a leadership or managerial role within a BI or analytics team.
  • Excellent knowledge of database design, SQL and data warehousing.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft BI technology.
  • Microsoft SharePoint experience a plus but not required.
  • Ability to facilitate meetings and gather requirements.
  • Experience in report writing, analytics, visualizations, dashboard creation, and mobile BI development.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
