We have an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated Accounting Manager based in our Irvine, CA* office. This role will play a key part in overseeing general ledger accounting, accounts payable, and procurement, with a specific focus on leases, fixed assets, and Oracle Projects. The Accounting Manager is an integral member of the accounting team, providing expertise and leadership in financial reporting, analysis, and operations.
This person will lead a team, manage day-to-day general accounting activities, and collaborate with cross-functional partners. The role is heavily involved in the period-end close and quarterly reporting process, and serves as a key resource for resolving complex accounting matters. This individual is expected to communicate effectively and provide timely updates to Accounting leadership as needed. This position reports to the Assistant Controller and will support all aspects of the financial close process and other internal and external reporting needs. An active CPA license is required.
*This position is 100% in-office and based in Irvine, CA.
General Responsibilities:
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, and monthly/annual closing processes
  • Manage the accounting team, including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and professional development
  • Motivate, mentor, and drive a culture of continuous improvement within the team
  • Perform year-over-year and period-over-period variance analysis for consolidated financials, ensuring accuracy through cross-functional collaboration
  • Review period-end account reconciliations and reporting packages, assisting departments in understanding financial results
  • Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
  • Coordinate annual audits and prepare necessary schedules and disclosures
  • Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory standards, and internal controls
  • Proactively research and document conclusions on accounting and compliance issues, citing relevant GAAP and internal policies
  • Lead special projects, including lease and fixed asset accounting initiatives, Oracle Projects enhancements, report development, and establishing new reconciliations

  • The above represents the expected pay range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we will consider your experience and other job-related factors.
  • Office Hours: Mon-Fri, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm with occasional nights and weekends for event support.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required
  • Minimum of 7 years' of progressive Accounting experience, including a minimum of 2 years in public accounting required
  • 2-5 years of supervisory experience
  • Active CPA license required
  • Ability to ensure confidentiality, take initiative and exercise considerable judgment
  • Ability to confidently communicate with external auditors
  • Exceptional collaborative and teamwork skills
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to meet communicated schedules and deadlines
  • Highly self-motivated, independent and proactive worker who is eager to learn
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Some travel is required

Work Location Details
In-N-Out Burger plans to bring its west coast headquarters team back together under one roof by the end of 2029. After maintaining two Southern California office locations for many years, the company will permanently close its Irvine office in 2029 and once again headquarter the company's western territory solely in Baldwin Park, California, where the company was founded in 1948. Newly hired Associates in Irvine will be eligible to participate in the group move to Tennessee with relocation assistance or work from our western headquarters in Baldwin Park, CA, upon its opening in 2029. We are sharing this information early so candidates can make informed decisions while considering a career with In-N-Out Burger.
