FLORES is seeking an Accounting Associate I to join our growing Accounting Services team. In this role, you'll manage the bookkeeping responsibilities for your own portfolio of clients while providing exceptional customer service and producing accurate financial reporting. You'll work alongside an experienced accounting team in a collaborative environment that values continuous learning, professional growth, and delivering outstanding client service.

What You'll Do

As an Accounting Associate I, you will:

Manage Client Bookkeeping

  • Serve as the primary day-to-day accounting contact for assigned clients.
  • Respond to client questions regarding accounts payable, accounts receivable, sales, cash management, and bookkeeping processes.
  • Build strong professional relationships with clients and vendors.

Deliver Accurate Financial Records

  • Process the full accounts payable cycle.
  • Prepare sales entries and sales tax returns.
  • Record general ledger transactions, recurring journal entries, accruals, month-end entries, and inventory postings.
  • Complete Level I audits to ensure accuracy and quality.

Support Clients and Resolve Issues

  • Partner with vendors to resolve payment and account issues.
  • Work with internal teams to resolve reconciliation and cash-related discrepancies.
  • Participate in projects that improve accounting processes and client satisfaction.
  • Maintain client templates and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Ensure Compliance

  • Track fixed assets and maintain asset records.
  • Manage 1099 vendor records and annual filings.
  • Process prepaid reconciliations and stale-dated checks.
  • Stay current on accounting regulations and best practices.

Collaborate with the Accounting Team

  • Work within ERP systems to ensure accounting accuracy and proper approvals.
  • Support special projects as assigned by the Accounting Manager.
  • Participate in team meetings and partnership calls.
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and continuous learning environment.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of bookkeeping and basic accounting principles.
  • Customer service experience in a professional environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to learn and work within ERP/accounting systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
