This is an opportunity for a proven consultant with successful Dynamics 365 Business Central implementation experience to step into a visible leadership role, deliver meaningful client impact, and help expand a growing advisory offering.

The right candidate brings more than technical implementation experience. They bring judgment, credibility, and interpersonal strength to work closely with executives and end users, solve real business problems, and earn trusted advisor status with clients. This person will perform implementations, guide process improvement, help clients modernize their finance and operational environments, and contribute practical, solution-oriented thinking throughout the engagement lifecycle.

This role is also expected to contribute to the growth of the practice. In addition to leading delivery, the consultant will support business development efforts, help identify client needs, shape practical solutions, and strengthen relationships that lead to long-term value for both clients and the firm.

Key ResponsibilitiesImplementation Leadership

  • Lead full lifecycle Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central implementations, including discovery, requirements gathering, solution design, configuration, testing, training, go-live, and post-go-live support.

  • Advise clients migrating from Microsoft Dynamics GP and other legacy ERP platforms to Business Central, with a focus on business process fit, reporting requirements, data migration readiness, controls, and user adoption.

  • Able to evaluate and support the implementation of third-party Microsoft solution providers within the Microsoft marketplace.

  • Coordinate with internal and external technical resources on integrations, customizations, data conversion, and reporting solutions.

  • Assist clients with enhancements and optimization of existing Business Central environments.

Client Relationship Management

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned ERP consulting engagements.

  • Facilitate client meetings, workshops, and design sessions with executives, finance teams, operations leaders, and end users.

  • Communicate project status, risks, recommendations, and solution options clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Earn trusted advisor status by combining technical knowledge with practical business judgment and responsiveness.

Solution Design & Process Improvement

  • Evaluate client finance and operational workflows and recommend practical improvements supported by Business Central capabilities.

  • Document business requirements, future-state processes, solution designs, and functional specifications for both standard and customized solutions.

  • Work closely with developers and implementation team members to translate business requirements into effective, scalable solutions.

  • Support testing strategies, training plans, cutover planning, and adoption efforts to improve implementation outcomes.

Business Development & Practice Growth

  • Support business development efforts by participating in discovery calls, demos, proposal support, and solution discussions for prospective clients.

  • Help identify client needs, shape practical implementation approaches, and contribute to the development of go-to-market messaging and service offerings.

  • Build strong relationships that create opportunities for follow-on work, broader advisory services, and long-term client value.

Firm Engagement & Professional Development

  • Maintain awareness of Microsoft product developments, ERP implementation leading practices, and market trends relevant to Business Central and adjacent Microsoft solutions.

  • Contribute to cross-functional collaboration across the firm's advisory, accounting, and technology-related service offerings.

  • Demonstrate and promote the firm's Mission, Vision, and Values.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; advanced degree a plus.
  • 8-12+ years of progressive ERP consulting and implementation experience, including significant hands-on experience with Dynamics 365 Business Central.
  • Demonstrated success leading Business Central implementations and migrations in a client-facing consulting environment.
  • Experience working with finance and operational stakeholders to redesign processes, improve reporting, and support the adoption of cloud-based ERP solutions.
  • Track record of supporting practice growth, generating opportunities, or contributing meaningfully to business development efforts.
  • Relevant Microsoft certifications strongly preferred, such as Dynamics 365 Business Central Functional Consultant Associate or related Microsoft credentials.

Required Skills and Competencies:

Technical Expertise

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central implementation methodology, core financial and operational modules, and migration considerations from Microsoft Dynamics GP and/or NAV and similar ERP platforms.
  • Ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into practical ERP configurations, workflows, controls, and reporting solutions.
  • Experience with integrations, data conversion, testing, training, and post-go-live stabilization.
  • Understanding of related Microsoft technologies, including Power Platform, reporting tools, and complementary business applications, preferred.

Client Service & Professional Skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Executive presence and the ability to build trusted relationships with clients, referral sources, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to explain complex business and system issues clearly to non-technical audiences.
  • Consultative mindset with strong listening skills, sound judgment, and a practical approach to problem-solving.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Ability to lead engagements, influence stakeholders, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced client-service environment.
  • Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and follow-through.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with sales, implementation, development, and client teams.
  • Mentoring capability and willingness to help strengthen a growing practice.
