Job description

SUMMARY: 

Responsible for performing routine maintenance. Completes basic and major preventative and corrective maintenance and troubleshoots minor equipment maintenance problems involving electrical, plumbing, and equipment repair or replacement.  Assists on projects assigned to the department, administrates cosmetic repairs to the facility finishes, and assists in all areas of facilities maintenance as directed.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Assist with training and onboarding of existing and new staff.  Performs major maintenance and or repairs of facilities equipment as directed, including HVACR. Makes recommendations for process improvements. Responsible for assisting in all areas of facilities maintenance including but not limited to: 
  • Diagnose and repair/replace a failed RTU compressor.
  • Routine inspections of all lighting throughout the property, identifying and resolving potential problems.
  • Responds to maintenance requests and in-house calls in designated time frame.
  • Maintains pool facilities (if they exist at the property) as assigned.
  • Works independently and advises supervisor of additional assistance needed. 
  • Maintains a neat, clean, and organized work area in the engineering shop.
  • Prepares daily work forms.
  • Maintains a working knowledge and understanding of all rules, regulations and controls.
  • Adheres to safety policies and procedures and OSHA regulations.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (G.E.D.), Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent certification in HVACR preferred.  Must have working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, air-conditioning maintenance, Rational Combination Ovens, Ice Machines, and Chiller Plants.  Prefer 5+ years’ trade experience, apprentice, or on-the-job training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  

HVACR Certification, EPA I & II or Universal license, Certified Pool Operator, RPZ Inspection, Building Controls, Life Safety Controls, CFESA Certification preferred.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record.

Applicant must successfully complete a physical abilities test for essential functions of this job, including a color blindness test to distinguish color.

This position requires a Level 4 Gaming License.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as policy and procedure manuals, maintenance instructions, and other related documents.  Ability to respond to common inquiries from other employees or guests. 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. 

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense reasoning to variety of situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.  The employee is also regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls.  The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.  The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

The employee is regularly required to climb a twelve (12) foot ladder.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
