Associate Food & Beverage Manager - The Mill Room
Boar's Head Resort Charlottesville, Virginia
About the Opportunity
Boar's Head Resort, a premier luxury resort in Charlottesville, Virginia, is seeking an experienced and service-driven Associate Food & Beverage Manager to join the leadership team of The Mill Room, our signature dining experience.
This is an exciting opportunity for a hospitality professional who understands that luxury service is created through attention to detail, personalized guest experiences, strong leadership, and consistent execution.
The Associate Food & Beverage Manager plays a key leadership role in the daily operation of The Mill Room and may serve as the department head when assigned. This position is responsible for creating an exceptional guest experience while supporting team development, operational excellence, financial performance, and adherence to Boar's Head Resort standards, Forbes service standards, and Four Diamond service expectations.
We are seeking a leader who is visible on the floor, comfortable coaching in the moment, passionate about hospitality, and capable of balancing exceptional service with sound business operations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead daily food and beverage operations and maintain exceptional luxury service standards.
  • Coach, train, and develop front-of-house team members.
  • Lead pre-shift meetings and maintain a visible management presence during service.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, performance management, and employee development.
  • Manage scheduling, payroll, labor costs, inventory, ordering, and expense controls.
  • Handle guest concerns and service recovery professionally and promptly.
  • Partner closely with Culinary and resort leadership to ensure seamless operations.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and overall outlet performance.
  • Serve as department head when assigned.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 3 years of food and beverage leadership experience, preferably within a luxury hotel, resort, fine-dining, or upscale restaurant environment.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with scheduling, payroll, labor management, inventory, and restaurant operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams and deliver elevated guest experiences.
  • Luxury, Forbes, Four/Five Diamond, or fine-dining experience preferred.
  • Beverage and wine knowledge preferred.
  • Must be available to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and flexible schedules based on business needs.

Salary Description
$60,000 - $62,000 Yearly
