Job description

We are seeking a RN Executive Director Specialist – Hospice to join our leadership team. This role acts as the administrator on call and is responsible for the overall operation of assigned markets, including the employment of qualified hospice staff and the delivery of high-quality services across multiple sites. The Executive Director Specialist RN will provide leadership and stability by filling in across markets, ensuring consistent compliance, quality, and patient care standards.

What You’ll Do as Executive Director Specialist – RN:

  • Serve as the Administrator on record at assigned hospice agencies

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations including staffing, compliance, patient services, and performance improvement

  • Drive clinical quality and ensure services meet Medicare Conditions of Participation, state hospice regulations, and Gentiva standards

  • Lead, coach, and support hospice care teams to meet patient-centered goals

  • Manage operational budgets with full P&L responsibility

  • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to ensure smooth transitions and sustainable team performance

  • Travel up to 100% throughout the region to provide onsite leadership

Essential Functions:

About You:

Qualifications – What You’ll Bring:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with current license in the state of residence

  • 3–5 years of leadership or sales/management experience, preferably in hospice or healthcare

  • Experience with Medicaid/Medicare regulations and reimbursement

  • Strong understanding of hospice operations and regulatory compliance

  • Able to work independently and travel frequently

  • Effective communicator with strong decision-making and time management skills

  • Highly proficient with technology and digital platforms

  • Demonstrates professionalism, integrity, and commitment to quality care

Preferred Experience (Not Required):

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted

Compensation may vary within the salary range provided based on several factors, including but not limited to a candidate's geographic location, experience, education, skills, licensure, certifications, internal equity, and department equity. Gentiva provides associates with a comprehensive Total Rewards package, of which base pay is just one component.

Salary Range: $125,000 to 135,000, plus 20% annual bonus potential
